Rita Herron

Bookouture are delighted to announce that Associate Publisher Lydia Vassar-Smith has acquired World English Language rights to three new suspense thrillers by bestselling author Rita Herron, from Jenny Bent at The Bent Agency.

Lydia says,

I love working on Rita’s books. She comes up with the cleverest and jaw-dropping conceits and her pacing is completely flawless, propelling the reader through the pages at lightning speed! In Detective Ellie Reeves, she has created a series character that the readers love and root for and Rita herself is such a pleasure to work with. We are so lucky to have her at Bookouture.

Rita says,

‘I’m so excited to be writing more books for Bookouture and my amazing editor, Lydia whose insight has been invaluable in shaping my books to be the best they can be! With editorial support, fantastic covers and promotional opportunities, the Bookouture team is a dream come true.’

We are also excited to announce that Commissioning Editor Nina Winters has acquired World All Language rights for a standalone thriller by Jenna Kernan, publishing in May 2025. In this utterly gripping psychological thriller, a young woman is hired as a personal assistant to a famous mumfluencer who is hiding a sinister secret beneath the veneer of her seemingly perfect family life.

Nina says,

‘This idea absolutely blew me away. Jenna has such a talent for coming up with totally unique, utterly brilliant plots, crafting believable and compelling characters, and jaw-dropping twist – all the ingredients you need for the perfect page turner. The final twist blew my socks off, and I promise you will never see it coming.’

Jenna says,

What a kick! I’m thankful to continue my journey with Bookouture with Nina as my editor. This book could not be in better hands, and I can’t wait to share this page-turner with my readers. The idea for this story captivated me and the writing has been a joy. Prepare for whiplash twists and a blindsiding final reveal!

Last but not least, Commissioning Editor Nina Winters has acquired World All Language rights for a book by USA Today bestselling author Danielle Stewart. Stewart’s upcoming gripping psychological thriller, in which an exchange student vanishes from a seemingly perfect family home, will publish in March 2025.

Nina says,

‘I am hugely excited to work with Danielle on this utterly brilliant psych thriller. Danielle’s concepts are always fresh and exciting. She’s a master at crafting relatable characters and plot twists that leave readers reeling. This upcoming book features a jaw-dropping twist, and plenty of page-turning family drama as our protagonist tries to unravel whether she can trust the man she loves – or whether he’s a cold-hearted killer.’

Danielle says,

I am thrilled to be working with Nina Winters and the team at Bookouture to bring this new psychological thriller to life. Bookouture has an incredible reputation for delivering gripping, edge-of-your-seat thrillers to their audiences. They have an unmatched dedication to bringing their readers what they crave! I’m eager for readers to experience the suspense and unexpected twists that will keep them guessing until the very end.
