  1. What’s going on with your software?

It used to be possible to print only a segment of a page. Now, when hitting the PRINT button, a message comes up with a green background saying “your print will start soon.” AND THEN NOTHING HAPPENS!

So, in order to print part of a page, one has to convert it to a PDF. And then, when it is printed, the DATE OF THE PUBLICATION IS ALWAYS THE WRONG DATE. It is the previous day to the newspaper’s publication.

Get your act together! We subscribers shouldn’t have to put up with this!

    1. Hi Cathy,

I am not able to recreate your issue. I will message you privately to get more information.

    2. Cathy the exact same thing is happening to me. They must have changed their print software without testing it.

      1. Perhaps you’ve already heard from newspapers.com about this.

What I learned is it’s a Safari problem. So, if you’re using Safari as your browser, here’s what to do:

Open Safari > Settings > Websites > Pop-up Windows > Allow pop- up windows on the websites below > newspapers.com

Life gets back to normal, whew!

        1. Thanks, it still had to be something they changed on their side, because I have an Apple and use Safari and it worked perfectly for well over a year. Thanks again, you are a Sweetheart.

      2. Warren, we worked with Cathy to determine that she was using Safari, and her pop-ups were blocked. Once she allowed them, the issue was resolved. You can check to verify your pop-ups are not blocked in this way: Preferences > Websites > Downloads and Safari Preferences > Websites > Pop-up Windows

  2. Again, I’ve been waiting over 30 years for the Chicago (IL) Daily/Evening Journal. Chicago is one of the most important U.S. cities, and it promoted Abraham Lincoln, one of the most important U.S. presidents. Almost the entire run, from 1844 to 1929, is in the public domain.

Also over thirty years ago, I found that New York City is called the “Big Apple” because of the horse racing columns in the Morning Telegraph (New York, NY) in the 1920s. That information is now in the public domain, but the newspaper is still not digitized. The newspaper sits, unsearchable, in the Stephen Schwartzman Building of the New York Public Library, and Schwartzman owns Newspapers.com! The Morning Telegraph was once the leading entertainment daily newspaper in the United States.

How many more years must I wait for these essential newspapers from Chicago and New York City? I’ve been telling you this for a very long time!

  3. I know this is newspapers.com, but I’d love it if they were to add public domain magazines.

    1. Hi Arletta, You can set up alerts! Just enter the search term (name, high school, etc.) and then hit search. When you come to the results page, there is a slider button near the top called “Alert me on this search” that will send you alerts when new content is added containing your search term.

  4. Again I sure do hope that more San Diego County newspapers will be expanded from 1939 through Present like the San Diego Union-Tribune (1992-Present) along with the San Diego Union (1868-1992) including the full issues of 1972 and 1973 and the first 3 months from 1984, the San Diego Evening Tribune (1895-1992), Blade-Tribune (Oceanside, California) from 1964 through 1989, The La Jolla Light and Journal (La Jolla, California), Rancho Santa Fe Times (Rancho Santa Fe, California), Del Mar Surfcomber (Del Mar, California), The El Cajon Daily Californian (El Cajon, California), The Encinitas Coast-Dispatch (Encinitas, California), The Carlsbad Journal (Carlsbad, California)-(1922-1993) and other San Diego, California newspapers Anytime Sooner or Later Please.

  5. Thanks so much for all these updates. Is there a chance any newspapers from South Africa may be digitized. EG: The Pretoria News? The Sunday Times out of Johannesburg. etc, These copies will be much appreciated. Newspapers out of the Cape Province or the Free State or Natal?

  6. How about The Providence Journal Bulletin?? Not only is Rhode Island’s largest newspaper missing, but you don’t have ANY Providence newspaper more recent than 1915!!! I keep checking periodically if it has become a part of your archive yet, but after 3-4 years still no dice.

  7. Would love to have the Wimbledon News (Great Britain) archive up until its demise in the 1980s

  8. I have waited and waited for you to include the Rochester, NH Rochester Courier from its beginning to at least the 1930’s or 40’s. It is no longer published but its issues are available iin person on microfiche (I am told).. I live in SC so going in person is no longer possible for me.

  9. The newspapers of Moab Utah used to be found on Newspapers.com. They need to be added, please.

    1. Hi Janet – I checked with our content team, and there have not been any changes to our collection of Moab papers. We currently have: Grand Valley Times 1896-1919 (pretty complete but missing a couple of months)
The Times-Independent 1896-2005 (fairly complete, but there are a number of years that are missing one or two months)
      The Canyon Country Zephyr 1989-1998

  10. Hello, I’m an old USAF military brat so can you research each military bases’ newspapers? I know my father, my mother, my brother, and even I appeared in articles. The bases’ newspapers that interest me are MacDill AFB FL (late 1940s – early 1950s), Whiteman AFB MO (late 1950s – early 1960s), Elmendorf AFB AK (1960s), Wurtsmith AFB MI (1965 – 1968), and Kelly AFB TX (1968 – 1974).
Since I’m the only member of my family, I’d like to leave information for my children and grandchildren.
    Thank you,

    1. Hi Jerrilyn, We do have a limited number of military papers (i.e. Stars and Stripes), but our archives generally don’t contain base papers. I will pass this along to the content team as an idea for something to explore. In the meantime, you can search our papers page without a subscription to see what is available. In the instance of MacDill AFB, I had to do a quick Google search to learn that the paper was called “Thunderbolt.” Unfortunately, we don’t have Thunderbolt in our archives.

  11. When will we see more past editions of The New Haven ( Connecticut) Register? This Newspaper covered a large part of the state of Connecticut. Thank you.

  12. Please consider adding more editions of The Wenatchee (Daily) World, Wenatchee, Washington, USA.
The only issues available are from 1905-1910. The (Daily) World was the voice of North Central Washington for decades. It had extensive coverage of the development and construction of Grand Coulee Dam as well as the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project. There was so much valuable information published throughout the years. (I was the news librarian there from 1976-2019.)
    Thank you.

  13. what about michigan? Detroit is very good size and their s/be a lot of old articles.

  14. Thank you! As an avid genealogist, I appreciate the ability to research in the periodicals! Maybe you could add newspapers from Newfoundland? My great grands are from that region, and I would love to be able to research that area. Thank You!

  15. What about the Flint Journal from Flint, Michigan?
I wrote a letter to their TV question-and-answer column in the spring of 1988 (it was anonymously signed, but I knew my letter from the way I wrote it).
    Please?

  16. Please add THE LONG ISLAND ADVANCE (Long Island, New York. They covered everything from births, deaths, weddings, boy scouts, girl scouts, community plays and events, who went on vacation and where, etc., etc., etc

  17. I’d love it if you were to add more Australian newspapers from the state of Victoria, particularly Melbourne newspaper The Argus. Newspapers from the states of Western Australia and Tasmania would also be fabulous. I would also love to see more post-1954 Australian newspapers added, particularly from the cities of Brisbane and Adelaide. It would also be fabulous to have New Zealand newspapers from the 1950s/1960s.

  18. It would be of great help to your subscribers IF you had listed the years of coverage of each newspaper out by the right side of the paper’s name. Now one has to open each link in the hope that it covers the desired time period one is interested in. It would take some time on Newspapers.com’s part, but save the subscribers untold amounts of time.

  19. WALES? How about adding at least one paper from Lawrence, Massachusetts, a large and important textile city? Such as the Eagle-Tribune? Newspapers.com is just about useless to me since most of my family hails from Lawrence. It’s a strange omission considering the important of Lawrence in 19th-century and early 20-century Massachusetts.

  20. I have subscribed to Newspapers.com for many years and found helpful information on my genealogy research. As a devoted genealogist I appreciate being able to search digitally as I’ve found libraries or historical societies that may have papers on microfilm do not lend them out on inter-library loan and it is not feasible for me to travel to view them. I see many papers being added over time however I never see the Cissna Park News in Illinois and I’ve been waiting and asking for years. They are available on microfilm any chances that you will be adding it?? I sure would appreciate it!
