Former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Greg Hardy has told UFC president Dana White that he will "eventually" want to sign him after Hardy won his MMA debut with a 32-second knockout.

Hardy urged White to "keep an eye on me" in an interview with TMZ, adding "cause you're gonna want me in the UFC eventually."

The 29-year-old reflected on his career change and said he's hungry to show what he can do in MMA: "I'm here to prove whatever I need to prove. I'm trying to work on being the best me that I can be—being the best athlete, being the best complete fighter, being the best person."

Hardy left the NFL after being charged with cocaine possession last year. He had previous served a four-game suspension after being the subject of a domestic violence investigation while with the Carolina Panthers. Hardy was initially found guilty of assaulting his girlfriend, but the charges against him were eventually dismissed and then expunged from his record on appeal.

He debuted in MMA on Saturday against Joe Hawkins and ended the fight quickly, per journalist Ted Gruber:

White left the door open to Hardy prior to his debut, telling TMZ Hardy "maybe" has a future in the UFC.

It's early days, and the bout against Hawkins was an amateur fight, but he'll have done his chances no harm with an impressive showing.

Hardy also revealed he hopes to fight again as early as December.
