Dana White Confirms GSP-Bisping Is '100% On!' After Tyron Woodley's Performance
July 30, 2017UFC 214's welterweight title tilt between Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia seemed to be the turning point to put Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre back on track.
The up-and-down negotiations seemingly hit a sticking point to where UFC President Dana White was ready to move on. During UFC 214 fight week White said the winner of Woodley vs. Maia would get GSP in a welterweight title clash (h/t Tristen Critchfield of Sherdog.com).
However, after the lackluster bout in which Woodley won the tides seemingly shifted.
Ariel Helwani tweeted that he asked GSP about the fight and the former champion maintained that he wanted Bisping.ESPN.com's Brett Okamoto asked White
ESPN.com's Brett Okamoto asked White if the fight would impact the GSP fight, and White confirmed that it would.
After all of that, after UFC 214 concluded official word came down. BT Sport confirmed the news from White that GSP vs. Bisping was '100% on!' Los Angeles Times' Lance Pugmire tweeted that he was told by a key official the bout was signed for November 4 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Through it all the fight that was announced back in March with a press conference between the two (h/t MMAWeekly.com) is still on. Bisping vs. GSP has a date and venue for the middleweight championship of the world.
