Top-seeded Jannik Sinner and No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz are both through to the quarterfinal round of Wimbledon for the second straight year.

Daniil Medvedev and Tommy Paul join them.

While Sinner and Alcaraz remain the favorites to win Wimbledon, they'll each face their toughest test yet: quarterfinal matches against opponents who have significantly troubled them in the past.

In the women's draw, No. 2 seed Coco Gauff and No. 12 seed Madison Keys became the latest players to suffer an upset at Wimbledon, while Lulu Sun became the first qualifier since Kaia Kanepi in 2010 to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

With the stunning upsets that have shattered the women's draw, No. 19 seed Emma Navarro has emerged as the favorite to reach the Wimbledon final.

No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner and No. 3 seed Carlos Alcaraz each coasted past their fourth-round opponents to earn their spots in the quarterfinal round.

While it's enticing to look ahead to a potential semifinal matchup between the two, both Sinner and Alcaraz will have extremely challenging quarterfinal matches.

Sinner will face Daniil Medvedev, who is looking to avenge a heartbreaking 2024 Australian Open final match in which he blew a two-set-to-love lead against the Italian.

Medvedev also enters with fresh legs, having played just eight games before his opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, retired, citing an injury in their fourth-round match.

Alcaraz will also have his hands full, taking on Tommy Paul, who has had his fair share of success against the Spaniard.

Given their opponents' form and past success, both Sinner and Alcaraz will need to play their best in order to move on.

Emma Navarro earned the biggest victory of her young career.

The 23-year-old stunned No. 2 seed Coco Gauff, reaching the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.

Navarro has dropped just one set this entire tournament, and with the shakeup of the women's draw, she is now the favorite to reach the Wimbledon final, hoping to become the first American woman since Serena Williams in 2016 to win Wimbledon.

Lulu Sun, who turned pro in 2022, had never won a Grand Slam main-draw match and faced a match point in the third set of her second-round Wimbledon qualifying match.

On Sunday, the 23-year-old qualifier and world No. 123 stunned 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu, becoming the first player from New Zealand to reach the quarterfinals of a grand slam since Belinda Cordwell (Australian Open) in 1989.

Sun will likely start as the underdog in her quarterfinal match against Donna Vekic, but her unprecedented Cinderella run, in which she has displayed the perfect combination of power, aggression, and consistency, should frighten every player at the moment.
