Video: WWE's Cody Rhodes, Metro Boomin Announce Bad Blood PLE for Oct. 5 in Atlanta

WWE champion Cody Rhodes and record producer Metro Boomin announced Saturday that Bad Blood will return as a premium live event later this year.

As seen in the following video posted by Metro Boomin on X, Bad Blood will take place Oct. 5 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta:

WWE head of creative Triple H confirmed the revival of the Bad Blood PLE as well:

Bad Blood was held three times previously in WWE history. The first event under that name was called Badd Blood: In Your House in 1997, followed by pay-per-views simply entitled Bad Blood in 2003 and 2004.

The original Badd Blood: In Your House event is remembered as one of the most significant shows in WWE history since it featured both the first-ever Hell in a Cell match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker, and the debut of Kane.

For many years, it was a poorly kept secret that the use of blood and even saying the word blood was frowned upon in WWE, which may explain why the Bad Blood premium live event has been dormant for 20 years.

However, since the departure of Vince McMahon from WWE and the emergence of Triple H as the leading creative force, the reins have been loosened significantly on that front.

Rhodes was a fitting choice to announce the return of Bad Blood, not only because of his status as WWE champion and one of the top stars in WWE but also due to his ties to the location.

The American Nightmare was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, which is just about 20 miles outside of Atlanta.

Recently, many of WWE's non-Big Four premium live events have taken place outside the United States, but Bad Blood will represent a return to a more traditional PLE schedule.

Following Money in the Bank in Toronto on Saturday night, SummerSlam will be held in Cleveland next month, while Bash in Berlin will take place in Berlin, Germany, on Aug. 31.
