On Saturday, six men and women will enter Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, hoping to gain the WWE Money in the Bank contract.

The annual men's and women's ladder matches allow two competitors to earn a shot at the champion of their choice. It's one of the most exciting events of the year, and the Money in the Bank briefcase makes the weekly programming much less predictable.

Edge famously earned the nickname The Ultimate Opportunist as the first winner after he cashed in on a bloodied and beaten John Cena at New Year's Revolution in 2006. In 2017, Carmella made history as the first woman to win the stipulation match.

The Princess of Staten Island held the contract for 287 days before she used it to pin Charlotte Flair and secure her first singles title on the Apr. 10, 2018 episode of SmackDown.

Each participant will look to follow in their footsteps and obtain the chance of a lifetime this weekend. It's anyone's guess who will ultimately climb the ladder and unhook their respective briefcase, but let's assess each wrestler's chance to win.

No. 6

1 of 6

    Carmelo Hayes

Considering his 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament victory, Carmelo Hayes would be an interesting men's Money in the Bank winner.

That cash-in and his stint on the developmental brand proved the 29-year-old has the charisma and ambition to make the most out of the briefcase.

However, Hayes doesn't have a storyline or the momentum to justify a win of this magnitude yet. His position in this year's WWE draft should assure fans he is a name to keep an eye on, but it still seems too soon for him to win on Saturday.

    Iyo Sky

Last year's women's Money in the Bank winner enjoyed a successful tenure and cash-in, which led to a prominent match with Bayley at WrestleMania 40. So, it's hard to believe she will repeat and become the first female two-time winner.

That would be quite an accolade, and it would be intriguing to see how the Japanese star manages to capitalize on it this time. Nevertheless, her growing frustrations and a potential Damage CTRL split are the real story for her in the coming months.

No. 5

2 of 6

    Andrade

Andrade could use a major win at Money in the Bank more than any of his contemporaries. The former luchador has been fairly directionless since his return at the Royal Rumble, and this would be an excellent way to introduce him to the world title picture.

Nevertheless, El Idolo has cooled off so much since January that it's hard to imagine he will leave the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto with the right to call his shot.

The win would offer long-time fans a glimmer of hope, but it seems far-fetched right now.

    Zoey Stark

Zoey Stark won the last qualifying match on Monday's Raw to earn the final spot in this year's women's match. It was a controversial victory because many fans were rooting for Dakota Kai, but it wasn't hard to predict.

Still, her alliance with Trish Stratus would have made her an intriguing pick in 2023. Unlike last year, Stark doesn't have a mentor or major storyline heading into the event, which makes her a long shot.

No. 4

3 of 6

    LA Knight

Last year's favorite to win came up short in the O2 Arena in London even though he was the most popular competitor in the field by a wide margin.

It felt like his time, but LA Knight did eventually challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

The Megastar isn't as hot this time, and he seems destined to face Logan Paul for the United States title at SummerSlam instead.

Knight could make the most of the opportunity, but it feels like the moment has passed.

    Naomi

Naomi would be a tremendous surprise following her return to WWE in January.

Her time as TNA Knockouts champion confirmed she is an underrated worker, and she could use the opportunity to taste gold again.

It would also be cool to see her decorate the briefcase and reintroduce her custom glowing title belt from 2017. That sounds like a lofty pipe dream, though, because other participants have much more buzz right now.

No. 3

4 of 6

    Chad Gable

Chad Gable is currently in the middle of the biggest push of his career as a singles competitor.

Most fans expect him to eventually win the intercontinental title, but the Olympic wrestler would also make an outstanding world champion.

Also, Austin Theory already set a precedent for Gable to use the MITB briefcase to cash in for a secondary title. This would be a great way to exact revenge on Sami Zayn and claim his mantle after a tough defense against Bron Breakker.

    Lyra Valkyria

Lyra Valkyria has progressed quicker than most of us expected on the main roster. As such, the runner-up in this year's Queen of the Ring has a solid chance of winning the women's ladder match.

The Valkyrie would be a nice change of pace, but the last two options seem more likely because antagonists often get the best use out of the contract.

Still, the 27-year-old Irish wrestler has a bright future with WWE.

No. 2

5 of 6

    Jey Uso

Jey Uso is overdue for a significant win to cement him as a successful singles competitor. He has the presentation and loud reactions to stand above the rest, but he hasn't won the big one.

Becoming Mr. Money in the Bank could remedy that and put him on pace to win his first singles title.

Uso and Drew McIntyre currently have the best odds of winning the briefcase on BetOnline.

    Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green has been a terrific addition to the WWE women's division since she returned in 2023. Her character work and ability to market herself online make her an asset to the company.

The MITB briefcase could elevate her and give her the most believable chance to win the women's title, similar to Carmella in 2017.

Her partner, Piper Niven, would also make her a dangerous winner because she could use the numbers game as Damage CTRL did last year.

No. 1

6 of 6

    Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre immediately became the most interesting pick when he won the last men's qualifying match on Monday's Raw. Afterward, BetOnline updated its odds, making him even with Uso as a safe bet to win.

It's still hard to believe the Scot didn't win the World Heavyweight Championship in his home country at Clash at the Castle. That was a once-in-a-lifetime moment WWE won't be able to duplicate, but MITB gives him another chance to regain what he lost.

It would be poetic justice for him to utilize the contract that robbed him of his WrestleMania moment earlier this year. It also would give him bragging rights over CM Punk, a two-time winner.

    Tiffany Stratton

The outcome of the men's contest is still wide open, but Tiffany Stratton is the odds-on favorite to win the 2024 women's Money in the Bank ladder match.

Like McIntyre and Uso, The Center of the Universe offers the lowest payout in her field on BetOnline. She's listed at negative odds on the sportsbook, unlike any male competitor.

Stratton, 25, has become a breakout star since she joined the main roster. Her reception at Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia in February showed that fans are ready for Tiffy Time, and WWE will have to strike while the iron is hot.

The former gymnast hit a bump in the road during the Queen of the Ring tournament, but the reaction to her on Friday's SmackDown at Madison Square Garden was telling.
