The star-studded duo will enter the field as wild cards, with both Brits hoping to pull off an improbable deep run for the home crowd. Murray has never made it past the third round of any doubles tournament at a Grand Slam, while Raducanu has played just one doubles match in her career.

Murray won Wimbledon twice in singles competition (2013, 2016). His 2013 triumph was the first time a Brit won a men's singles title since 1936, making him the only winner of the Open Era.

The 37-year-old, who is retiring for a second time this year, will not be competing in singles competition amid continued struggles recovering from spinal surgery. He will compete in men's doubles with his brother, Jamie.

"The opportunity to play here again for the last time, that's kind of it. This is a place that's obviously been really good to me over the years," Murray told reporters last month.

"My idea would have seen that happening probably at Wimbledon. Obviously I have the Olympics coming up. But I would love the opportunity to play here one more time. That's what I'm looking to get out of it. I'm hoping for, when it comes to the end, maybe a bit of closure. I just want the opportunity to play one more time out there hopefully on Centre Court and feel that buzz."

Raducanu, who has been plagued by injuries herself since roaring onto the scene with a 2021 U.S. Open championship, has not played at Wimbledon either of the last two years. She'll be looking to get herself back into form and likely using her time with Murray to help do so.
