City Women Through the Ages

Women’s History walking tour
of the City of London

A limited edition, free guided walk run by City of London Guides in partnership with the City of London Corporation. Uncover some of the lives and work of women the Square Mile over 2,000 years.

From one woman who was her husband’s “dearest” to another who was brutally murdered, our tour will tell the stories of free-spirited medieval nuns, another Wren, and women from the East End whose industry bedecked women going up West. And with a Tudor princess, business women in the Middle Ages, a twentieth century artist, literary lionesses and political activists, we can claim that all female life is here.

If you are part of a Women’s network at your workplace or elsewhere, this could be a fantastic way to bring your colleagues together to explore the City. We aim to make our tours as accessible as possible but there are some uneven surfaces.
