BUDDHIST SOCIETY
100th Anniversary Reception

The Buddhist Society was founded in 1924 by Christmas Humphreys, QC. Based in London, it is one of the oldest Buddhist societies in Europe. The society, which is a charity, offers instruction in the teachings of all the different major Buddhist schools and traditions, as well as a structured programme of courses on general Buddhism for both the public and its members, and also holds one of the main libraries in Britain on Buddhism.

The 100th anniversary of the society will be celebrated on Wesak, which celebrates the birth, enlightenment, teachings and death of the Buddha. This reception is being held to celebrate this important anniversary. The evening will include performances, short speeches and an opportunity to network and develop the relationship between the City Corporation and London's faith groups.

This event is invitation only and places are strictly limited. If your organisation has members of staff who are active in the Buddhist community, please nominate up to two people to attend below. We will send out formal invitations to those nominated, dependent on capacity.
