Do you think the argument "Privately Managed" will become a guarantee of quality for B2B players in this futur industry? With the growth of Artificial Intelligence it becomes more and more relevant to stay up to date with the latest updated terms of use concerning those new tools. Today your lack of consciousness can highly define your success rate in an industry/domain. And multinationals like #Samsung have well understood this. It's only a matter of time before this awareness spreads to small and medium-sized businesses. Dream salesmen who promise you imminent results can't be on as comfortable ground as they are now. And your innovations will become obsolete and stolen by happy idiots who have developed “trusted” conversational chats (the new trojan horses). If you're innovating, don't make the mistake of asking third-party LLMs for help. "You're never better served than by yourself." What do you think of delivering itself the right to appropriate your work to deliver it to your competitor's users? 🤔 Have we really reached such a level of dishonesty, requiring implementation of an international right defining human work as a public intangible cultural heritage to ensure a better societal disruptive transition? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡: If No One Wants to Pay, It's Just an Expensive Hobby. Imagine you've spent months, maybe even years, pouring your heart and soul into building your dream product. You're confident it's a game-changer, a revolutionary idea that will disrupt the market. But when you start to charge your users: 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁 - this was me last year, until we realized where we made the mistake. -𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲, 𝗷𝘂𝗿𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿. No matter how innovative your idea is, if it fails to 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 that people are 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿, it's doomed to fail. This unforgiving reality is what Josh Kaufman, calls the "iron law of the market." So the mistake we made was, -perfecting too many features before testing our many assumptions with an unbiased target group. Here's a few things to help you avoid this expensive hobby trap: 𝟭. 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀.  Engage with the people you envision using your product or service. Listen to their pain points, desires, and frustrations. 𝟮. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵.  Investigate your competitors, analyze market trends, and assess the size of the opportunity. 𝟯. 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀.  Create a simple landing page or waitlist, but be sure to include potential pricing options. Run video ads and collect leads. See how prospects respond to different price points and messaging. 𝟰. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝘃𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 (𝗠𝗩𝗣).  Once you've gathered insights from your target audience, develop a basic version of your offering to showcase its potential value. A demo video or interactive prototype can be powerful tools for gauging interest and gathering feedback. Validating your ideas before committing resources, can increase your chances of building a thriving business. #ironlawofthemarket #startups

I am just back from a 4 day hackathon on Buildroot which took place in Nantes (France) with the Buildroot co-maintainers Arnout Vandecappelle and Romain Naour. Just a week ago, our backlog of patches to review/merge peaked at 670 patches, and it's now down to 272 patches: still a lot, but a massive progress! First of all, thanks to Bootlin for sponsoring my time there, but also Smile for Romain Naour's time and Mind Software Consultancy for Arnout Vandecappelle's time... to which of course a lot of personal time was added. I tried to summarize what was achieved during this hackathon. Of course, most of the work below is based on contributions from all Buildroot contributors: 🚀 Updated many, many, many packages, and merged a lot of build fixes 🚀 Significantly extended the Qt6 support, with new packages for qt6shadertools, qt6languageserver, qt6declarative, qt6websockets, qt6wayland, qt6tools, qt6virtualkeyboard, qt6mqtt 🚀 Defined a better template for init scripts, updated the manual about this, and updated a number of existing init scripts to this template. 🚀 Added support for GDB 15.x, and updated GCC 12.x to GCC 12.4 🚀 Added a number of other new packages: python-ruamel-yaml-clib, zoxide, libdex, mxt-app, tig, libavif, docker-cli-buildx, host-skopeo, libopenmpt, chicken, kmon, tipidee, attr, python-msgpack, host-gnupg2, pico-sdk, picotool, gtkiostream 🚀 Spent a great deal of time fixing the build of qt5webengine to the point where it builds again 🚀 Update the whole set of NXP-specific packages, added support for i.MX6ULP in those packages 🚀 Added a defconfig for the BeaglePlay, Beagle-V Fire, Spike RISC-V 32-bit, Cubieboard 1, BSH SMM M2 (SystemMaster M2) Board, ARM FVP EBBR, versal_vpk180 🚀 Updated many defconfigs with newer Linux/U-Boot versions: RaspberryPi, ZynqMP defconfig, uevm5432, STM32 defconfigs 🚀 Added new runtime tests: for mosquitto, bcc, xfsprogs, btrfs-progs, python-asn1crypto, btrfs, dmidecode 🚀 Improved graph-depends to allow drawing forward and reverse dependencies of a package on the same graph 🚀 Finished merging the patches fixing the "fuzz" in existing patches 🚀 In addition to those topics, a lot of time was also spent on topics for which we couldn't yet merge patches, but nevertheless did review or investigation: Romain Naour reviewed the proposed patches to add the Loongarch64 CPU architecture and also worked on RustiCL, Arnout Vandecappelle investigated some difficult qt5webkit/qmake issues, etc. In total 333 commits were made over the 4 days, and many more patches were reviewed, and discussed. Such focused hackathons clearly help in making significant progress in a short period of time. And they are also very fun moments! Scanning technology has been around for ages.. and until recently you weren’t able to utilise NFC on iOS devices as was only available for Apple pay and those types of use cases. Since it’s been available for all app developers, we made it part of the standard Papertrail applications on iOS and android. You can use on a desktop too. With a third party reader. We’ve got a number of subscribers trailing tonnes of different NFC tags, ranging from a few pence to a few quid. With custom branding. Fall back to qr or serials. And lots of other interesting features. Stickers, zip ties, rope labels. Is going to be interesting to see which tags stick around either from the manufacturers of equipment or via third party suppliers. A few Papertrail partners, and equipment suppliers are offering services to add tags to your equipment during the inspection process. It’s been available for some fire brigades and energy conpanies for a while, and will start to get into more inventories soon. i think i wish for christmas a plugin that works with either my metamask wallet and or a private key where i will top up my funds via FIAT to Wallet as we go for the investment. 1. search for opportunity 2. top up wallet EUR to EURe or if denominated USDC then quick swap on chain EURe to USDC 3. interact with smart contract (e.g that your wallet is already verified to deal with on chain products verified by a trusted on chain party which is trusted by the issuer as well) 4. get back dividends/interest into wallet and auto route it to FIAT if i want also easier to track portfolio vs 10 broker UIs....

EIS is a godsend for investors and startups ! The benefits are huge: + Investors can write off 30% of their investment against their income tax bill. + Of that remaining 70% and if the business fails, investors can also benefit from a further 35% write-off (if in the top rate of tax). + So, if the company goes bust, that is up to 65% of your investment covered against your tax credits. + If investors hold their shares for three years, they have no capital gains tax on exit. + Investors can invest up to £1 million a year in EIS investment and up to £2 million in knowledge intensive EIS companies. There’s no question that it’s a challenging time to raise money right now, with EIS investment over 59% down on last year, but it will be even harder if you’re not EIS-able. With a new Labour Gov, Capital Gains Tax feels like it will get closer and closer with Income Tax over time - a big difference, so maybe that’ll have the (unintended) benefit of investors investing again as no CGT on exits. EIS will become even more important to the startup/tech ecosystem than it is now and we’re glad to see the UK Government protect it. The early-stage ecosystem would collapse if SEIS and EIS didn’t exist. For all the negative things that are said about the UK and doing business here, this is a real strength of ours.
