Shared Mobility for All 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐠 𝐒𝐥𝐚𝐦 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓! 🎉We are thrilled to announce that our project has been selected as one of the six finalists (out of 39 applications from 18 different Interreg programmes) This recognition is a proof of our consortium's hard work, dedication, and innovative approach to improving shared mobility and accessibility through co-creation. Being chosen from among so many outstanding projects across Europe is truly an honor. Our journey has been all about creating impactful solutions for people with reduced mobility and stimulating collaboration between cities, operators, designers, and most importantly the end-users. New week, new SMALL update! 📣 Last week, our partners from Ghent University (Maite Dewinter) and Mpact (Esen Köse) hosted a workshop with 35 students from around the globe who were participating in the EIT Urban Mobility Summer Academy, organised by Ghent University. Here’s a quick recap: 💡 'SMALL' introduction: We kicked off by explaining the core of the #SMALLproject and highlighted the power of co-creation in making shared mobility accessible to more people. 🤝 Interactive Session: Students were divided into smaller groups, each tasked with helping an end-user complete their customer journey through co-creation. Each group approached the journey from different perspectives: operators/designers, cities, end-user representatives, and the end-users themselves. We used the co-creation cards created by our colleagues from Ghent University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam). 🎤 Presentations: After the interactive part, each group presented their activities, showcasing how their suggestions varied or aligned despite their different roles. We purposely let the group of the end-user present their suggestions last to show the others how their approach might be different from the end-user's needs. We also saw that different actors would suggest the same co-creation activities, which shows that there is room for collaboration. Finally, when thinking about co-creation, one also can automatically think about stakeholders that they can involve to reach the end-user. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺? 𝙎𝙈𝘼𝙇𝙇 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙨! 🔍 Here is a quick recap of what we have been doing.   𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬, from 18 to 21 June, we got to visit one of our pilot cities by attending the 2024 Velo-city conference, aka the world's largest #cycling conference! 🚲   The event saw presentations by two of our amazing partners, namely:   🔹 De Fietsambassade Gent, represented by Karen Scheire and Saar Fivez, shared all about their volunteer-based cycling taxi service in two sessions, where they explained how their service is helping fight #transport poverty, as well as fostering an inclusive bicycle culture by supporting people with reduced mobility in their everyday travels.   🔹Our coordinator Mpact, represented by Esen Köse, joined a roundtable session on inclusive bike-sharing systems, involving participants to learn more about SMALL's mission to co-create inclusive shared bike solutions for all ages and abilities. 💻 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬, we co-hosted a webinar with fellow Interreg projects ShareDiMobiHub and SMAPE - Shared Mobility Action Programmes Exchange on how regulatory frameworks and policy tools are currently improving and can further enhance inclusive #SharedMobility services. It was a great opportunity to exchange with other projects working on #SharedMobility and learn more about the current regulatory landscape and its challenges. 📣 #ICYMI: Last month, our SMALL consortium went on a three-day learning journey in our pilot City of Amsterdam! From 22 to 24 May, our SMALL roundtable, SMALL partnership meeting, and the Amsterdam for All event helped us set the course for piloting inclusive shared transport solutions in European cities and regions 💡 The 3-day gathering brought the SMALL partnership together with #mobility providers, academics and end users’ representatives to determine European best practices for launching #SharedMobility options comfortable for all users. They showcased their innovative #Fietstaxi service, sharing their knowledge with over 100 passionate individuals from across the globe, including France, Germany, Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, and the US. 🌍 💡𝑫𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘? The Fietstaxi service drew inspiration from Cycling Without Age but focuses more on functional rides.
