Luminus and Coldset Printing Partners lead the way to balanced energy supply   ⚡ Luminus and Coldset Printing Partners, a subsidiary of Mediahuis nv and the largest newspaper printing company in the Benelux, have launched a pilot project to address the growing demand for flexibility in our power grid.   ☀️ On very sunny and windy summer days with low consumption, a risk of electricity surplus can compromise the balance on the grid. A smart management of renewable energy generation is consequently key. To face this challenge, Luminus has developed an innovative Energy Management Software (EMS) which smartly controls large solar parks remotely, maintaining stability on the Belgian electricity network. This innovative solution has been installed for the first time at Coldset Printing Partners.   🌍 Coldset Printing Partners has been a sustainability leader for years. In 2019, they installed 1400 solar panels at their Paal-Beringen facility, showcasing their commitment to renewable energy and setting an inspiring example. 🌟 Luminus behaalt Charter Duurzaam Ondernemen van Voka! 🌟 📣 Trots om aan te kondigen dat we gisteren het Charter Duurzaam Ondernemen van Voka-Vlaams netwerk van ondernemingen in ontvangst mochten nemen. Great vibes at the Luminus Be the Switch event!   🌍 Last spring was all about innovation! The Innovation Campaign 2024 had the ambition to inspire all Luminus employees about Artificial Intelligence: a challenge about new business models, products and services powered by AI. As part of our internal "Be the Switch" competition, everyone at Luminus had the chance to submit their innovative ideas to find new energy solutions and bring ideas to life that will be developed afterwards.   🙏 224 Luminus colleagues participated in the competition! Accounting for more than 67 innovative ideas! 💡 🤩 Yesterday, the final of our Be The Switch competition took place: 19 finalists came to pitch their idea to a jury and to Luminus colleagues. 👏 Thank you and congratulations to all participants! And especially to the three winning teams: Kevin Van Hees & Romain Thelen, Elle Quirijnen & Anne Desreveaux and Johan Stouten, Lucka André & Steven Schelles! 🌬️ Aujourd'hui, avec IDEA - Coeur du Hainaut et AISIN Europe, nous célébrons l'inauguration du parc éolien de Ghlin-Baudour par Luminus, IDEA et AISIN. Ce parc éolien représente un engagement fort envers le développement durable et la transition énergétique. Avec une puissance totale de 15,6 MW, ces quatre éoliennes produiront au total 25 200 000 kWh, soit l'équivalent de la consommation de 7200 ménages. 🌍 L’occasion de souligner l’importance des énergies renouvelables et de rappeler les enjeux de la transition énergétique pour les entreprises wallonnes. En optant pour l'installation d'une éolienne sur leur site, les entreprises bénéficient de plusieurs avantages économiques et écologiques. Elles réalisent des économies sur leur facture d'énergie, contribuent à la production d'énergie verte et utilisent une énergie 100% renouvelable produite directement sur place. 🌟🦅 Quatre bébés faucons sont nés sur la tour de notre centrale électrique à Seraing. Cet oiseau, l’animal le plus rapide du monde, était menacé d’extinction. 🌍Depuis 1997, notre site à Seraing est devenu un lieu privilégié pour leur reproduction. 💚 Les nouveaux nés sont en parfaite santé et devraient s’envoler d’ici quelques jours. Ils ont été bagués par l’ornithologue qui a pris ces belles photos. 😍 Chez Luminus, nous sommes fiers de contribuer à la protection de cette espèce et à la préservation de la biodiversité.
