Voor de editie van 2024 hebben we Yoko Dams, de drijvende kracht achter de Circufix App, en Rosalie Heens, coördinator van Repair&Share vzw, uitgenodigd om onze medewerkers te informeren over circulaire strategieën voor het onderhoud en de reparatie van huishoudtoestellen. Yoko demonstreerde de pilotversie van de #Circufix App, een AI-gedreven app die de beste hersteloplossing voor jouw kapotte toestel biedt. 🌿 6 Takeaways from 2023: 2. Growth 📈 Our determination and vigor are bearing fruit. 🌳 6 Takeaways from 2023: 1. Cooperation 🤝 We are increasingly looking for opportunities to #cooperate, even within our own sector. Alone you go faster, together you get further.  To speed up the #transition to a #circulareconomy, we need even wider cooperation partnerships between companies, knowledge institutions, trade unions, and governments. For example, our Antwerp North Heat Network supplies carbon-free heat to Boortmalt by utilizing residual heat from our operations. This collaboration links our Antwerp site with Boortmalt, demonstrating the benefits of partnering across industries for sustainable energy solutions. Sonja Bartsch, a specialist from our Indaver Biebesheim laboratory in Germany, has made it to the finals of the prestigious #BGRCI "Arbeitsschuts Gewinnt!" competition - one of Germany’s most significant safety awards! From 90 submitted improvement proposals, Sonja's innovative idea, "Safe opening of clamping ring drums using drum clamps", was selected for its creativity and impact. 🔍 The challenge: Drums with special waste destined for incineration need random inspections. However, it's not always clear if a drum is under pressure, posing safety risks. 💡 The solution: Sonja's idea involves securing the lid with a specially designed metal clamp to prevent it from flying off, while ensuring any pressure buildup is safely released during the opening process. 🔧 The implementation: She modified a metal clamp so the adjustable arm can be fixed at different heights, and welded a metal plate to the threaded spindle. Indaver’s core mission statement on safety is ‘work safe, home safe, everyone, every day’. Transitieboosters zorgen voor de innovaties van morgen. Fatma Yildirim, onze R&D-ingenieur, voert baanbrekend onderzoek uit in bij #Plastics2Chemicals om end-of-life-plastics te recycleren tot waardevolle nieuwe grondstoffen. Ze is door essenscia geselecteerd als een van de acht 'Transitieboosters' in de sector. 🎉 Fatma en haar team spelen een cruciale rol in het sluiten van de kringloop voor plastics in Europa. “De blauwe PMD-zak thuis is geen afval, maar een waardevolle bron van materiaal,” zegt ze. Op 18 juni mochten we een bijzondere delegatie van Sint Eustatius (Statia) verwelkomen op onze GFT-compostering in Alphen aan den Rijn 🌱. We waren vereerd om Gezaghebber Lady Alida Francis, Eilandgedeputeerde Arlene Spanner-Schmidt en Bestuursjurist en 2de wnd. eilandsecretaris mw M. James-Brown te ontvangen. Het werkbezoek werd georganiseerd door Donny Vellekoop en Ad Vermaas van de Omgevingsdienst Midden-Holland (ODMH) en werd ook bijgewoond door Ruben Vlaander en Elise van Leest van Omgevingsdienst NL en Sebe Buitenkamp van het Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat. Centraal stonden uitleg en discussie over de VTH-praktijk in Nederland en het belang van goede samenwerking tussen de omgevingsdienst en bedrijven in het werkgebied. 🤝 Onze uitleg over de rol van composteren binnen het VANG-beleid en de rondleiding langs de compostering, de Bio Power vergister en gasopwerkstation, en het biofilter werd zeer gewaardeerd. We danken iedereen voor hun komst en de waardevolle gesprekken.
