Several GGI teams are busy preparing for their input for the United Nations Summit of the Future, which will take place from 22-23 September 2024 in New York with the objective of placing the multilateral and global governance systems on a stronger path again. The 6th Editition of the Annual Summer School on Global Peace, Security and Strategic Studies (GPSSS) was kicked off with an insightful practitioner session led by Dr. RORY KEANE Head of UNLOPS - United Nations Liaison Office for Peace and Security. Rory outlined some of the most pressing challenges that the United Nations (and global governance more generally) are currently facing, but also outlined some ideas on how to concretely build back a more effective and inclusive networked multilateralism to address pressing global problems. This year's GPSSS cohort once again brings together 20 talented students and young professionals from around the globe to follow a comprehenisve and in-depth 10-day programme, co-organised by the Global Governance Institute (GGI) and the Royal Military Academy, Belgium with lectures and training sessions given by senior policymakers, leading scholars and civil society representatives.
