🗣️🇻🇪"There are considerable doubts about the official election results. Venezuelans deserve complete transparency. The counting results from the polling stations must be published and the irregularities in the elections must be clarified. The hope for change was palpable on Sunday and must not be ignored by the international community, especially the German government," - Karl-Heinz Paqué Chairman of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and Vice President of the Liberal International on the election results in Venezuela on Sunday. #freevenezuela #elections #democracy

Will the Paris Olympics become the most politically charged Games ever? As the Paris Summer Olympics kick off today, the Games remain a platform for political expression and controversies abound: Russian and Belarusian athletes compete under severe restrictions, while calls to ban Israeli athletes over the Gaza conflict stir the pot. The Taliban’s oppressive regime has Afghan athletes in the spotlight, and France’s own political turmoil threatens to overshadow the Games.
