#Cooperativism is a current, innovative and modern business model. This was one of several insights generated by the results of the image survey on cooperativism, carried out by the #OCB System (Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives) in November 2023. The survey brought together 90 participants in focus groups, and more than 11 thousand people answered the qualitative questionnaires, which identified the main points of recognition of cooperativism in Brazil. In addition, Sicoob continues to be one of the main #cooperatives remembered by the participants. Therefore, in this month of cooperativism, we want to thank and reinforce our #commitments to you and the #cooperative movement. We continue together offering more than a financial choice and working for a fairer financial system for all. Today, wero, the digital wallet of the European Payments Initiative (EPI), is launched. 🛫 DZ BANK AG and Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken have partnered with fourteen European banks to enable their customers to make cross-border #digital #payments. wero will start with person-to-person payments (P2P), followed by online payments in e-commerce and m-commerce next year, and payments in brick-and-mortar retail will be possible in 2026. Philippe Hourdain, Chairman of the Banque Populaire du Nord, was elected Chairman of the Fédération Nationale des Banques Populaires (FNBP) on 7 June by the Presidents and Chief Executive Officers of the Banques Populaires. Philippe HOURDAIN succeeds Andre Joffre whose term of office is coming to an end, he wishes to embody an active Federation, carrying the voice of the Banques Populaires in the Groupe BPCE, for the benefit of the #collective interest. "We are the change." - This was the motto under which BVR President Marija Kolak opened the 79th Banking Conference of the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken today in front of around 900 board members of the #Cooperative #Financial Network. "Let us join us in thanking all the employees of the Cooperative Financial Network for their daily commitment with a strong round of applause. All of us, with and for each other, are a successful association. The fact that we are and can change in order to continue to be relevant to them also makes us ourselves responsible. Sicoob kindly hosted an international Roundtable on 2 May 2024 followed by the CIBP Executive Committee Meeting and General Assembly on 3 May 2024.  The members took the opportunity to exchange on current challenges, goals and developments during the Members Roundtable on 2 May 2024. Mrs. Tania Zanella, Superintendent and her colleague, Mrs. Fabíola Nader Motta, General Manager of OCB (Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives) gave a presentation regarding "The Brazilian cooperative movement's journey to sustainable development - thriving with values". This initiative triggered rich exchanges among the CIBP Members and guests on different aspects of the cooperative movement. During the CIBP Executive Committee and General Assembly on 3 May, the members elected CIBP's new President, Mr. Philippe HENRI, Chairman of Banque Populaire Méditerranée (BPMED) for a mandate of 3 years. He succeeds Mr. Marco de Almada, CEO of SICOOB. Mr. Philippe Henri presented his Action Plan for his term of office which was well received by all.

Announcement 🔊 The last CIBP Executive Committee, which took place in Brasilia on 3 May 2024, elected unanimously CIBP's new President, Mr. Philippe Henri, President of Banque Populaire Méditerranée (France). He is elected for a term of office of three years. Mr. Philippe Henri succeeds Mr. Marco de Almada, CEO of SICOOB (Brazil). We thank Mr. de Almada for his strong engagement in CIBP's management for the last 3 years. In the interests of the member banks and their members, Mr. Philippe Henri wishes to prioritize the Confederation's actions around shared #cooperative #values and effective #business #development between members. Mr. Philippe Henri has been Chairman of Banque Populaire Méditerranée since 2018, after having been Chairman of Banque Chaix from 2008 to 2017. Since 2019 he has also been Chairman of the Fondation Nationale d'Entreprise Banque Populaire.

At the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management School, I was allowed to do the "Opening Talk" today together with Christian Rhino from the Helaba. As is so often the case today, the focus was on the topic of hashtag #GenerativeAI. Is the topic hyped? Maybe. But rightly so, in my opinion: GenAI is here to stay – in all areas of life. That's why it's worth working intensively on it today. At DZ BANK AG, it was important for us to get straight into action. That's why we already implemented our "in-house ChatGPT" last year with DZChat. What is particularly important to me when looking at this topic is that, apart from all the technological and organizational issues, the empowerment of employees plays a major role. After all, the (corporate) culture and competence of the employees are the decisive factor for a GenAI strategy to really work. What is needed is a positive, curious attitude – companies must promote this. And that's why GenAI has been a board issue from day 1.
