At Bekaert, we always dare to go beyond, and last weekend was no exception. Several employees proudly participated in the #SportaMonVentoux 🚴♂️ event, demonstrating our commitment to pushing boundaries and supporting good causes. One standout participant is our team member, Severine Deloof, who exemplifies our spirit perfectly. We are incredibly proud of Séverine for reaching new heights—both literally and figuratively. Despite facing a personal battle with breast cancer, her ambition to conquer Mont Ventoux by bike never wavered. With team support and the backing of Philip Eyskens, she achieved her dream, showcasing incredible resilience by climbing Mont Ventoux not only once but twice. By leaving her pink ribbon —a symbol for breast cancer awareness—at the top, Séverine wanted to show her gratitude toward #ThinkPink for their support to her and many others. Séverine’s achievement reminds us that we are truly better together, supporting each other to overcome challenges and achieve great things. 🤝 #DareToGoBeyond #BetterTogether
Sé DID it ! "#resilience @ work on Mont Ventoux!" My team member at Bekaert Severine Deloof started cycling only a few years ago with an ambition to climb Mont Ventoux one day. Unfortunately a personal battle with breast cancer prevented her for many years to pursue this dream, until yesterday at the #sportamonventoux event in Bedoin. Very proud of you Sé! It was an honour to be one of the Zwefies wingmen & women accompanying you on this climb, see your dream come true, and leave your pink ribbon on the top of the mountain. Grateful I could manage a second climb to wish strength to another team member and all others currently facing the same challenge, and thank #thinkpink for all the support they provide every day. It was also the 20st and final edition of this wonderful event built on the foundation of a fantastic group of volunteers, and supporting ngo To Walk Again started by Marc Herremans. Congratulations Dirk Geeraerd & team for all your passion and looking forward to join the new Sporta biking & hiking initiative in Luxembourg end of June next year! #bekaert
