Take care of the land, and the land will take care of us. The Native Americans' regenerative relationship with the land is based on generations of deep interconnectedness that has been taught through their cosmologies, ceremonies, and languages. These connections require responsibilities to the natural world. We have partnered with native stewards of the land, Hutch and Norma Naranjo, with whom we have created an engaging and authentic experience.

The Experience
Arrive at the pueblo home of the Naranjo family: Hutch, Norma, and Nina. Settle into this cozy home, a celebration of native craft and traditions.
Norma will guide you on an engaging culinary adventure – beginning with hand kneaded dough for seasonal treats which you will stuff with locally harvested prune and apple filling. Later, you will join Hutch as he tends to the wood burning ‘Horno’, a beehive-shaped adobe oven invented by the Moors, and introduced by the Spanish settlers to the Pueblo communities in the 1600s. The ovens are heated by hot river stones encased in the floor which warms the adobe to an even temperature. Hutch will show you how to load up the ovens with bread, pastries, and gourmet surprises, while offering samples of the bounty.
The day concludes with a feast of delicious dishes made with seasonal ingredients.
