The unusual my1login password manager doesn't install a local client or browser plugin. It's all managed through an online portal and a single bookmarklet.

my1login: Import Bookmarks

My1login can import bookmarks from most browsers and from several other password managers, RoboForm among them. If your password manager can export to a CSV file, my1login should be able to import its data.

A password lets you open your my1login account, but the key phrase is necessary to decrypt your password data. The company recommends that you use a lengthy phrase.

To foil keyloggers and screen scrapers, my1login doesn't ask you to enter the password. Instead, it requests specific characters out of the password, entered by choosing from a drop-down list.

To use my1login on a computer for the first time, you need to drag the my1click button onto the browser's bookmarks bar. The my1click page includes browser-specific instructions for revealing the bookmarks bar if it's not visible

Click the pencil icon next to any bookmark to open it for editing. An open or closed eye icon next to the username and password fields controls visibility of data in those fields.

While my1login doesn't offer a full report on weak passwords, it will display a tip about any bad passwords it finds on a daily or weekly basis.

my1login: Sharing Options

You can share any of your passwords with other my1login users. A recipient who doesn't use my1login will get instructions on how to sign up for a free account.

By default, login credentials that you share with another user can't be edited. You can choose to give the recipient write permission at any time.

When you receive a share, you'll get a notification message. You can choose to accept or discard the share.

Some email and social networking bookmarks display a circled "i" icon. That means you can view that site's latest messages from within my1login.

By clicking the small "i" button above the bookmarks list you can select only those bookmarks that have associated data feeds. Doing so will let you view all the latest feeds at once.

The Pro edition costs $2 per month, but you can get a month free just for mentioning my1login on Facebook or Twitter. When friends join based on your recommendation, that earns additional upgrade months.

The free my1login stores all your bookmarks in a sorted, searchable list. Going Pro gives you the ability to organize them into a multi-level folder structure.

Pro users can connect my1login to any POP3/SMTP email account. That lets my1login display a feed of the account's latest messages.
