Capcom decided to make it much easier to try playing Resident Evil Village by offering access to the demo via your web browser.
Thanks to a deal with Google Stadia, the gameplay demo is now accessible with a single click in your browser of choice. A connection speed check will then be carried out before the game starts streaming and you can start playing. No registration is necessary, and you can use either a keyboard and mouse or game controller for input.
Capcom says the demo will run on Windows 10 or 11, macOS 11, Android 11, or iOS 14.3 or later, and recommends the latest version of the Chrome browser for all platforms except iOS where Safari is used. Compatible controllers include the PlayStation DualShock 4 and the Xbox One controller, both of which can also be used with Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth.
When first released back in April last year, the demo required a download and install, but Capcom also limited the play time to 60 minutes. For this streaming version of the demo, the time limit has been removed and you can play for as long as you like. However, there's no save feature, no HDR, and the highest resolution setting is 1080p. Of course, you'll also need a constant internet connection in order to keep the demo running.
