Samsung's Galaxy AI is officially coming to devices beyond the Galaxy S24 lineup.

Starting March 28, One UI 6.1 will bring this suite of AI tools to the Galaxy S23 series, the S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Z Fold 5, and the Tab S9 series.

One of the most eye-catching features of Galaxy AI is Circle to Search with Google. It's essentially a streamlined version of Google Lens that lets you circle an item and submit it to Google for a search. Just hold down the home button or gesture area to launch a search of an onscreen item that you selected. Keep in mind that if you cannot take a screenshot of an item, like a DRM-laden movie, you may not be able to use Circle to Search to its full potential.

The Samsung Phone app will also offer a Live Translate feature. This allows you to have a conversation with another person in another language, with the phone running Galaxy AI handles the translations on both sides. A demo translating between English and Korean was impressive, allowing for communications that would otherwise be very difficult.

Photography gets a big boost with Galaxy AI. Generative Edit lets you move around or resize objects in your photos. It can even help fill in areas that are obscured. For note-takers, the Notes app gets Note Assist, which can create a summary of your writings and re-organize the contents for clarity.

Chat Assist will live in the Samsung Keyboard app and it can help with translating or offering tonal suggestions for your communications. Since the feature is in the Keyboard app, it's accessible pretty much wherever the keyboard is.

Considering the S24 series is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 system on a chip, and these other devices are not, we will have to see if there is any significant differences in performance. To check if you have the latest version of One UI, head to Settings > Software Update and tap Download and Install.
