If you're itching to try out an Apple Intelligence-powered Siri this fall, you'll have to wait. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the full version of the upgraded Siri won't be available until the spring of 2025.

While Apple Intelligence is set to debut in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia in the fall, Gurman reports that Siri's AI features will be available as a beta in January 2025 before a public launch in the spring via iOS 18.4.

Siri will still get an upgrade this fall, Gurman previously reported, including a new interface and the ability to have more natural conversations. ChatGPT integration is expected sometime in 2024. But Apple is now more willing to take a "staggered" approach to feature rollouts to avoid having to admit something is delayed.

When it comes to Apple Intelligence, that strategy gives Apple more time to bulk up its cloud infrastructure and make sure its AI tools don't "hallucinate" or spout nonsense, Gurman says. (The latter already popped up on Google's Gemini-powered AI Overviews.)

People in the EU may be waiting even longer. Several new Apple features—Apple Intelligence, iPhone Mirroring, and SharePlay Screen Sharing—won't be released in the EU at launch due to concerns they'll violate the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
