Based in Perth, Western Australia, Co3 Contemporary Dance is the State’s premier contemporary dance company. Driven by excellence and collaboration, we have become a progressive platform for the exchange of ideas and stories that reflect the experiences of our community. With a multidisciplinary and technological focus, our company presents an annual program of works with unique physicality and expression. We seek to empower and inspire the next generation of artists through our engagement programs.

CoVid highlighted just how quickly our industry can be impacted. With performance venue closures, social distancing and travel restrictions, the crisis highlighted the vulnerability of our programs that rely on venues, live audiences and in-person delivery. To future proof our company against similar events, Co3 is integrating a Digital Platform into our business model that contains a number of initiatives that sit across all program areas. The platform will enable us to reach increased audiences (potentially) across the globe. It will allow people who may be reluctant to engage in larger community gatherings due to COVID fears, or restrictions based on age, health, disability, or geographic distance, to engage with professional programs and productions without needing to visit a theatre or be exposed to large crowds.

With thanks to Lotterywest funding, we are currently building the foundational programs (WA Makers Library, Audience Enhancement App and THE ZONE VR) that will be the first offerings on the platform. Alpha testing of these programs will commence November 2020.
