“Kerrie recently presented to staff of Hays Australia as part of our We Lead strategy providing expert speakers to our organisation to build confidence and resilience. She presented online with the subject matter being "Connecting with Confidence". The feedback from our staff after the session was that they loved Kerrie's humility and approachability, that she drew them in being relatable, honest and fun. We had a 500% increase in the ERG group after Kerrie's session, and would highly recommend her as a speaker to other organisations looking to empower their staff to build networks and connections internally and externally.”

You want to improve your mentoring skills. How can you assess your progress?
Clarify the purpose and hopes for the mentoring at the beginning of the relationship and each session, checking in regularly that you’re both “on the same page”. Is there anything else the Mentoree would like to cover, are they seeing their goals differently as they progress?

You want to improve your mentoring skills. How can you assess your progress?
It’s too easy to move on to the next appointment, but scheduling time after mentoring sessions to reflect is incredibly helpful - to you and your Mentoree. Make note of any ideas you have, to discuss with them later, or introductions you’d like to make, resources you’d like to share … and reflect on your own thinking and conversation. “Was I truly listening or did I jump in too early with my ideas?” “Did I manage the time well?” “What else do I need to learn/offer/ask?”

You want to improve your mentoring skills. How can you assess your progress?
Seeking feedback is essential to make sure you’re making the most of the time you share. Before the session ask questions such as “what do you want to focus on in our time together?” and “how can I best support you today?” or “what would make this season especially helpful for you?” Listen and ask questions of your Mentoree so they feel heard and understood before you dispense advice. And note that they might expect you to dispense advice immediately, but you have the opportunity to help them to trust their own gut feelings and ideas and not simply rely on the opinions of mentors. Feedback questions can be as simple as “is this useful” and “how else can I support your thinking? (Or goals).
