Environmental versus convenience purchases and the role of online community champions: My Pizza Personality
Readings and Cases in Sustainable Marketing: A Strategic Approach to Social Responsibility
The My Pizza Personality project assessed the extent of environmental beliefs for convenience consumers using fast food retail pizza purchasing. The results demonstrate that pizza purchasers are not generally green consumers. Pizza purchasers who do align with environmental beliefs, however, are less likely to make a purchasing decision based solely on price. Consumers with environmental beliefs are also more likely to share information with their communities through social media.

This research demonstrates that consumers who engage in frequent activity involving convenience products may not hold strong environmental beliefs. Consumers that do hold environmental beliefs, however, are willing to pay higher prices and give brand loyalty to companies that support those beliefs. These green consumers are also more likely to champion the cause of the company within their community. -

The overarching project involved effectively managing the transition of the organisational structure from 11 executives to 6 (as part of the MAP change program), and the subsequent restructure of multiple divisions. These projects included a comprehensive analysis of change impacts with an exceptionally smooth transition process (including a benefits realisation process) successfully attained. One specific division restructured included Queensland’s Operations and Field Services Division – a team of highly skilled technical staff operating in a unionised environment. As part of the project, Shape Consulting reviewed the division’s current operations, helped develop a new divisional structure, and guided the transition process.
