Driving Change for Women in STEM

About us

Women 4 STEM is an inclusive organisation with the mission of furthering the entry, retention and progression of urban and regional women in the STEM industries. Women in STEM are a smart lot, working as developers, analysts, programmers and everything in between. However, while some can code in a number of complex languages and have all the smarts in the world, many struggle with how to progress into leadership positions. And, quite frankly, this does not compute. Women 4 STEM is the professional organisation that is putting a rocket up the industry and creating epic pathways for women in STEM leadership. WE ARE THE VOICE OF LEADERSHIP - We are working the diversity agenda from the top down. - We are mentoring, training and connecting our individual members. - We are inspiring women of all ages to enter, stay in and upskill in an amazing industry. - We have pioneered award-winning and record-breaking programs that mean we’re rolling our sleeves up and getting seriously dirty about diversity in STEM. We offer ground-breaking programs for STEM careers from start to finish, visit our website to see them all. GET INVOLVED Now is the time to pull together, get real and create real change. Please share this with your sisters, mother, neighbours and daughters. Everyone is invited, not just those with a two X chromosome. Women played a massive role among the original STEM pioneers, so let’s get behind diversity and create balance, fairness and visible career paths for everyone in STEM. women4stem.com.au

⭐ Exciting news! This week, the WorkWell Respect Network officially launched with Hon. Danny Pearson, the Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC, Joe Calafiore, CEO of WorkSafe Victoria, Nyadol Nyuon, OAM, Director of Sir Zelman Cowen Centre, and industry partners: Women 4 STEM, NAWO, and AHA (Vic). Jamila Rizvi (Deputy Managing Director of FW (Future Women) masterfully MC’d the panel session, where Khayshie Tilak Ramesh, our own Patty Stonehouse, Peter Wade, and Fiona Evans discussed this vital initiative with our collective goal to prevent work-related gendered violence across various industries. The WorkWell Respect Network’s key focus is on preventing gendered violence experienced by women and non-binary individuals at the intersection of race, religion, and ethnicity. We’re proud to represent and champion this program amongst STEM leaders. 📆 Women4STEM kicks off the program with our first forum next week on August 1st. In our interactive Forum 1, we’ll delve into industry-specific issues, unpack gendered violence as an Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) matter, cover these issues from an intersectional lens and explore what good psychological safety looks like, all while emphasizing the role of leaders. There is still time to register to the program, join us in creating a more respectful and safer workplace for everyone: https://loom.ly/GlwqMgc A huge thanks to the Women4STEM WorkWell Team: Krystle Northover, Mary-Beth Hosking MBT, Mona Fleming, Patty Stonehouse and our Board Chair Chris Skipper-Conway#WorkWell #RespectNetwork #Women4STEM #GenderEquality #SafeWorkplaces
