About us

Since 1907, Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ) has been helping people across Queensland build stronger and more inclusive communities. Previously as a mission activity born of the Albert Street Uniting Church, WMQ is a not-for-profit providing community support; mental health services; aged, disability and palliative care; and retirement living through our 13 residential aged care homes, three retirement villages, 14 specialist disability accommodation facilities and two hospices. We also deliver state-wide community support and Auslan interpreting services to members of the Deaf community nationally. Our staff engage with people from all walks of life to encourage choice and independence. WMQ has a long and proud history of supporting people in need. Founded in the 1900s to provide meals to children and women in need, we now operate as an Institution of the Uniting Church. We work collaboratively with other Uniting Church congregations, community organisations and government bodies to provide accessible and flexible services to older people, those living with a disability or mental illness, and vulnerable children and families. Through its Reconciliation Action Plan, Wesley Mission Queensland celebrates diversity and stands with First Nations Peoples for an equal and united future. With more than 3000 employees and 2400 volunteers working across approximately 90 services, we are guided by the Wesley Charter, a framework that guides our interactions with the people we serve. Our people strive to make a difference in people’s lives by building relationships, showing respect and demonstrating compassion.

  • Everyone at Cooper House is so glad to have the sound of cheerful chirps filling the halls once again. Residents have been enjoying the company of six new budgies! 🦜They've been busy making room visits since they arrived last month. Here, Judith enjoyed some time with them while they chirped away.

  • If you're at the Wheller Gardens Wellbeing Centre, make sure to stop and smell the roses 🌹 Run by nearby residents, the Wheller Garden Club picks fresh flowers and fruit from their beautiful garden on a Sunday afternoon for people to buy during the week, with the money going towards the club. These flowers and lemons are all homegrown, and if you're lucky, you might get your hands on some before they’re all gone at the end of the week! 🌼🍋

  • Happy NAIDOC week! This is a time to come together and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our celebrations kicked off at Logan's NAIDOC event, where we had a blast with face painting, coloured hair spray, games and popcorn! And today, we were at the Musgrave Park Family Fun Day, Australia's largest event of it's kind, that brings together and celebrates First Nations People, culture and heritage. As NAIDOC week comes to a close, let's continue our celebrations this week and beyond, to 'Keep the Fire Burning. Blak, Loud & Proud'. 🖤💛❤️💚💙

Signed, sealed and delivered! Yesterday marked a historical day for our Rosemount Retirement Community at Sinnamon Park. We were thrilled to hold Rosemount's official opening to the community and for the new residents who will now call Rosemount home. We are excited to see Rosemount become an even more vibrant community, filled with laughter, friends and beautiful memories. Thank you to Bickerton Masters and all those who made this incredible project possible!

  • "Sylvia (pictured left) did not want to come into care.
