It’s ‘egg-citing’ times on Kangaroo Island, as our new Penneshaw desalination plant will soon be producing water! Kangaroo Island Free Range Eggs is among 700 local homes and businesses connecting to our network for the first time, and say access to water from the plant will help reduce costs and drought-proof its large business. Once operating, the two megalitre-per-day capacity plant will provide a climate-independent source of water for the Islan, while improving the community’s bushfire resilience. A ‘tree-mendous’ part of what makes up the 80,000+ hectares of land we manage across SA is a variety of trees. Reducing urban heat, improving community health and providing habitat for native wildlife are just a few reasons why trees are so vital. #NationalTreeDay

We are proud to announce a three-year extension to our contract with SA Water, as one its Adelaide service delivery partners, supporting the operation and maintenance of around 9,200 kilometres of water mains and 7,500 kilometres of wastewater mains across the metropolitan area. The agreement takes our partnership to 1 July 2028. “Securing this extension is testament to Service Stream’s high performance on this contract and the quality services we provide SA Water and their customers,” says Kym Martin, Service Delivery Manager. Nowadays, you'll always see our field crews wearing hard hats and hi-vis safety clothes, but in the 1930s, work wear looked a little bit different. 👷👷♀️ This #ThrowbackThursday photo shows construction of a pipe between SA’s Mid North and Whyalla.

An ancient Kaurna campground near McLaren Vale is going through a journey of cultural and ecological regeneration, and we’re excited to support this important project through our Pirku-Itya (Reconciliation Partnerships Program). Together with Karl WINDA Telfer and the Slingsby Theatre Company, we recently participated in an education day and planted water-wise natives on Country at Kanyanyapilla, also celebrating the addition of a trailer to help water the newly planted site. Applications are open for our 2024-2025 program until 21 July 👉 https://bit.ly/3QXLaKQ 📷 Jordan Ellis

Sheltering from the rain in our reservoir ranger depot at South Para late last week, we hosted a special NAIDOC Week event for our local teams. Thank you to Isaac Hannam for leading us in a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, as well as sharing your powerful story of connection with history, culture and language. #NAIDOC2024 #BlakLoudProud

Working with traditional materials such as raffia, accomplished Ngarrindjeri/Boandik basket weaver Vicki Hartman shared her skills with some of our people in Adelaide today, as part of an interactive workshop. As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, it was great to learn about the role weaving continues to play as a collaborative activity within Aboriginal culture. #NAIDOC2024 #BlakLoudProud
