The hardworking team at OzHarvest is always doing incredible work with what they have, but they recently needed a bit of assistance to ensure their new commercial kitchen had sufficient power. With the help of our Major Customer Manager Frank, we were able to install a new switchboard to power up their operations! This upgrade has resulted in significant cost savings, enabling the delivery of an additional 7,164 meals! Frank and Anthony, our Community Partners Manager, joined Rachel, Oz Harvest’s Adelaide City Manager to check out their new kitchen last week. We take great pride in supporting our community and contributing to initiatives that make a real difference.

We just celebrated a major milestone on Monday – 100 years of the Stobie pole! 🎉 Family of James ‘Cyril’ Stobie joined CEO Andrew Bills and Pole Production Co-ordinator Brian Docking at our Angle Park pole manufacturing yard to unveil a commemorative plaque to mark this special occasion. We think you’ll agree that it’s not just the Stobie pole’s engineering feat that is worth celebrating, but also the creative mind and honest spirit of Cyril, who lodged his first patent for the Stobie on July 15 1924. We’re honoured to remember his lasting legacy and celebrate his invention that has stood the test of time for a century. Here's to another 100 years!

As part of National Reconciliation Week this year our Employee Foundation held a raffle to raise money for a First Nations Charity. The raffle raised an impressive $800, and with dollar matching from the Foundation, we were able to donate $1600 to new charity partner Nature Foundation. This donation specifically supports their Kids on Country program and fully funds a place for one young First Nations child! SA Power Networks takes pride in supporting programs that boost self-confidence, life skills and empower Indigenous youth. Congratulations to Woodville-West Torrens captain Annie Falkenberg, recently awarded the SA Power Networks SANFLW Leadership Award at this year's SANFL Women’s Best and Fairest. Nominated by the Eagles for her outstanding team-first approach in 2024, Annie exemplifies leadership both on and off the field. Introduced in 2021, the SA Power Networks Leadership Award recognises players for their off-field attitude as much as their on-field achievements. The award was developed from the Female Personal Pathways program – a series of workshops and forums covering leadership, financial and career development, club culture and mental health education. SANFL clubs nominated players based on a number of criteria, including demonstrating care in mentoring younger players at their club, inspiring and encouraging personal development, and having values that reflect those of their club. SA Power Networks is a proud supporter of the SANFLW and the growth of women’s sports. Congratulations to all the teams for a wonderful season, which ended with a nail-biting finish over the weekend between South Adelaide and Norwood—South Adelaide took the win! Looking forward to next year's season. Photo: Annie Falkenberg accepting the award from Rachel Walker Strategic Communications Manager, SA Power Networks
