Enterprise customers in regulated industries won’t be able to adopt AI without the ability to secure data and manage permissions. Redactive solves this critical problem with an elegant product built to enable enterprise AI adoption. When we met ex-Atlassian founders Andrew Pankevicius and Alexander Valente, we were immediately impressed with their product and commercial approach, and blown away by the level of market pull from banks, large financial institutions, and other customers in regulated industries. Thrilled to announce Felicis new investment into Australia’s tech ecosystem with our bet on Redactive. I couldn’t be more excited join the team as a board observer to partner with Andrew Pankevicius, Alexander Valente, and @Lucas Sargent, and to co-lead this round with our friends Blackbird. Grateful to work with Nancy Wang and Atlassian Ventures on this investment.

This is a massive achievement for our organisation and we are excited to work with Blackbird (AU) and Felicis (US), along with my old employer Atlassian. Our vision at Redactive is to secure every organisations LLM adoption. We think that this is one of the most important problems to solve in the technology industry currently. I am happy to invest my time in ensuring that applications can be responsibly developed and that peoples data can be secured. On a personal note: It's been awesome to be able to build this company with my team. I am outrageously lucky to work with these people and every day I am thankful of the people around me. This has been evident both internally in the company and externally. The startup community in Australia has been super supportive and the technology community abroad has been extremely helpful.

Build enterprise grade, permissions-aware GenAI Applications with Redactive | Co-Founder of Redactive

After 8 months of hard work, I'm proud to finally share that Redactive has raised $11.5million to fuel our mission to be your team's trusted AI engineer! Redactive’s developer platform solves for the most complex problems that traditional software engineers are struggling to navigate in an AI focused world. We don’t replace your existing software engineers or automate their job. Instead, we solve for the emerging & lucrative ‘data engineering’ skillset that is table-stakes for an AI application to function. But more than that, Redactive is now a 10 person team with top-tier international investors, co-led by Blackbird (AU) and Felicis (US) along Zapier and my old employer Atlassian via their ventures team. I'd stress that there really aren’t many startups in Australia focused on building developer platforms for a global audience, let alone ones focused on how enterprises solve empowering security teams to manage new data threats and support business leaders to practise Responsible AI. We are really proud as a team to focus on huge, global challenges that are facing purposeful AI adoption and make a mark on it from our corner in the world. Blackbird and Atlassian Ventures have led an $11.5 million funding round for Redactive AI - a Melbourne-based developer platform co-founded by a pair of former Atlassian product managers Alexander Valente & Andrew Pankevicius - along with AI engineer Lucas (he/him) Sargent. The strong founder team and early traction have impressed investors in Silicon Valley. “We loved the Atlassian DNA of the team, commercial instincts, and distribution relationships with Zapier and other partners so early in Redactive's life stage," says @Victoria treyger, a general partner at Felicis Ventures - early investors in Australian unicorns Canva and Culture Amp. 🖋 Shivaune Field for Forbes Australia

Redactive has become an Australian success story, building an organisation on the ethical and security conscious view of AI. We’ve heard it time and time again, failed GenAI POC’s because InfoSec aren’t comfortable with how access and permissions are handled. Redactive solve this very real problem. Congratulations to some of the best humans I know :) Andrew Pankevicius Lucas (he/him) Sargent and Alexander Valente
