Is everyone going part-time? It can certainly feel like it. In fact, part-time employment in Australia has risen by a significant 63.4% since 2006. Now, more than a quarter of Aussie workers work part-time. Last week, we launched Reckon’s Part-Time Trends Report. This study explores 15 years of Census data and reveals just how much the Australian workforce has changed. Here’s what we learned: 👨 Men are driving the increase in part-time workers: Men have driven the largest increase (32.1%) in part-time employment, despite twice as many women working part-time. Now, one-fifth (21.4%) of men in the workforce pursue part-time work. 👩🎓 Gen Z makes up a quarter of Australia’s part-time workers: Generation Z and Young Millennials (combined ages 15-34) also saw the most significant increase in part-time employment (19.6%). ⛰ Tasmania has the highest percentage of part-time workers: Over a third (36.4%) of Tasmanians work part-time. The state also saw the highest increase in part-time workers (18.4%), thanks to its many part-time-friendly industries such as hospitality, retail, and healthcare. 🏝 Byron Bay is Australia’s part-time work hotspot: Almost half of workers (48%) in Byron choose part-time employment. The town is a hub of cafes, hotels, yoga studios, shops and the arts, all of which lend to part-time work. Byron Bay is also loved by digital nomads, who often opt for part-time work while embracing the coastal lifestyle. The research can be found here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gB37W_sW

Our office became a Hollywood set today! (Well, not really – but everyone certainly brought their A-list game ⭐). We shot our new company culture video, starring the fantastic Sydney team from Visual Domain (led by director Annabel Barratt and producer Emily Elston) and Reckon CEO Sam Allert as an intrepid tour guide for an anonymous new starter. Ambassadors from every department represented their teams and put their best foot forward, showcasing what we do best at Reckon: our friendly, warm atmosphere. Mustafa Kohistani and James Simpson even prepared a little surprise! Special thanks to everyone involved. Check out some behind-the-scenes snaps below, and stay tuned for the final cut ✨ 🎬

Another cat out of the bag! We’re so pleased with the work Prosperity Media did to help us bring to life our latest campaign, Part Time Trends 📈 Their expertise and dedication were instrumental, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out 🙌 Using 15 years of ABS Census data, Part Time Trends reveals just how much the Australian workforce has transformed. After crunching the numbers, the team found that more than 4 million Aussies now work part-time, whether juggling multiple jobs, starting a side hustle, or cutting back on their hours 💻 Men have been leading the charge, with a 32% increase in part-time work since 2006. Special thanks to Jonas Grünfeld, Chloe Hong, Elysia Sumner, and Keunike Maralit for their hard work ✨ The full report also has Australia’s part-time working hot spots 🔥 Check it out! 👉 https://ow.ly/h5m150SysqH

How do painters get paid? An arts accountant, of course! 🎨 🔢 We’re super thankful to share the story of Reckon Partner and Arts Accountant Michael Fox, who let us and Visual Domain into his gallery last month for a sneak peek at some incredible artworks. He walked us through his story: how he got started, why creatives often don’t think to get a financial planner, and why he thinks Reckon Payroll is the best value way for small businesses to stay compliant. Check out his case study below! Thanks a million, Michael ✨

Long service leave is a time-honoured tradition in Australia, so Reckon is proud to have 7 anniversaries this year, ranging from 5, 15, to 25 years! These employees have worked hard and stayed with us through thick and thin, so let’s shout them out 👏 Well done, mates. You’ve earned it! And then, of course, an extra huge congratulations to our intrepid CEO, Sam Allert, on his 25th work anniversary at Reckon! 🎉

Really appreciated the article from Stockhead this week: Reckon (ASX:RKN) has an “Outperform” recommendation thanks to broker Taylor Collison Limited. The last few years have been a time of growth and innovation for Reckon, and through it all, we’ve stuck to our mission: continue to deliver excellent products for every small business at an affordable price. The “Outperform” recommendation, recognizing our efforts, is a significant reassurance that we are on the right track. I also wanted to shout out one of our most exciting products this year: BillingQ, a great billing workflow and collections program that helps the legal sector in North America streamline billing, collections, and operational efficiency. The success of this opportunity is a large part of Taylor Collison's recommendation, so that’s exciting to hear and exactly what we hoped to achieve.
