  • A month later, and we are still energised by our 2024 National Dealer Conference. We were able to share detailed plans with our incredible dealer network, and were delighted to host many Mitsubishi Motors Corporation special guests, including President and CEO, Takao Kato. To top it off, the Distinguished Dealer Awards were announced. For those that missed it - and those that want to relive it - here's the hype reel.

  • Mitsubishi Motors Australia is proud of its ‘core market’ status, significantly contributing to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s global initiatives. This week, MMAL’s Product Strategy team hosted several key MMC guests in a wintry Adelaide, as we continue to plan for an exciting future. This spirit of collaboration, with a two-way flow of market visits, strategic sessions and real-world experiences, ensures the vehicles we sell in Australia continue to deliver for our customers. • We are deeply saddened by the passing of Tom Phillips AM on July 1st 2024. Tom led Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd (MMAL) as President and CEO from 27 June 2000 to 31 October 2005. When Tom joined MMAL, the Australian Automotive Manufacturing sector faced a great deal of uncertainty. Imported vehicles were taking an increasing share of the Australian New Vehicle Market, placing severe pressure on local manufacturers. For those of us that had the privilege of working with or for Tom, you will understand how tirelessly he worked to provide our business with stability and certainty over such a tumultuous period. Tom was able to turn adversity into opportunity. He strengthened our local production with industry leading capabilities. With that came volume growth for our domestic market and record level growth for exports to international markets across the globe. As a leader, Tom was respected and highly regarded by staff, colleagues and the entire Mitsubishi Motors Australia Dealership Network. We are deeply saddened by his passing. On behalf of all at Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd, we express our sincere condolences to Tom’s family. He was a true Gentleman.

  • Winter has arrived, bringing with it one of the most challenging times of year for South Australians battling homelessness. At Mitsubishi Motors Australia, we’ve thrown our support behind The Advertiser Foundation's Blanket Appeal to help our fellow South Aussies that are doing it tough. In the lead-up to winter solstice, our CEO Shaun Westcott and COO Rob Nazzari attended Hutt St Centre to serve warm lunches for those in need, while head office staff gave generously throughout the week to raise much-needed funds for the Blanket Appeal. “Winter is one of the toughest times for anyone who is homeless, and today’s cost-of-living pressures and housing crisis mean more South Australians are experiencing the heartbreak of homelessness,” said Westcott.   “The Advertiser Foundation Blanket Appeal provides an opportunity for us to make a difference, whether that’s serving Hutt St. Centre clients warm lunches or donating money and essentials,” he said. *Thanks to The Advertiser for the image, with Melvin Mansell and Dan Demaria flanking Shaun Westcott.   #BlanketAppeal2024 #AdvertiserFoundation #HuttStCentre #mitsubishimotors

  • Established in 1981, the Mitsubishi Motors Australia Distinguished Dealer Award is the highest accolade available to Mitsubishi dealers, in both metropolitan and regional areas. The award seeks to celebrate success across sales, aftersales, and customer experience at a dealership and is a true representation of the hard work and effort which staff at dealerships put in as part of a team throughout the previous year. For 2024, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation CEO Takao Kato personally attended the ceremony, further highlighting the importance placed on our passionate and engaged national dealer network. Mitsubishi Motors CEO Shaun Westcott remarked: “The Distinguished Dealer Award sets a high bar for Mitsubishi dealers across Australia, as we seek to continually exceed our customers' expectations by demonstrating excellence across the business. “Each year these awards spur the Mitsubishi Motors national dealer network to even higher standards across all facets of dealership operations. “This year is no different as we recognise a group of consistently high performers, while also rewarding new achievers for the first time. This is great news for MMAL and its customers, and we look forward to seeing what our dealer network will achieve in future."
