The Office for Health and Medical Research is proud to be on the advisory board for CT:IQ, a collaborative of stakeholders who are all passionate about improving the impact and quality of Australian clinical trials.     The organisation aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical trials that are patient-centred and integrated into the Australian health care system. They do this by partnering with many Australian organisations and bringing together stakeholders with different perspectives, roles and involvement in clinical trials to form project teams to develop or adapt consensus recommendations.    Learn more about CT:IQ and hear more about it from Kathleen Irish, Manager clinicaltrialsNSW at the Office of Health and Medical Research: https://lnkd.in/gmUsRcUz

The Office for Health and Medical Research is pleased to be providing $4.5 million in funding and support for the new Non-animal Technologies Network (NAT-Net) to reduce and replace the use of animals in medical research in NSW. The Network brings together eight leading research organisations as founding members, and these include Children's Medical Research Institute, Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI)UNSW, University of Newcastle, University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, University of Wollongong and Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. Launched this week by the Hon David Harris MP, Minister for Medical Research, NAT-Net aims to build a cohesive non-animal technologies sector and support the development of alternative technologies that are more biologically similar to humans. We have already seen some incredible developments in this sector through precision medicine, 3D printing technologies and organoids - 3D mini organs grown from human stem cells. We look forward to future developments in this space and the impact it can have on patient outcomes.
