International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) is excited to profile Our Extraordinary People – spotlighting a key team member each month who exemplifies our commitment to excellence.  This month, we showcase one of our incredible event managers - Stephanie Risteski. Stephanie joined us in 2022 as a corporate receptionist on a traineeship, studying to obtain a certificate IV in Business (Administration). Fourteen months later, in 2023, she was promoted to the Event Services Department and started building her event management and planning skills as an Event Planning Coordinator. To celebrate Plastic Free July, the team hosted a Plastic Free July Drop In Activity with our waste management provider Cleanaway Waste Management. Team members were informed on best practices to avoid single use plastics and had the opportunity to participate in a pop quiz. We also welcomed the AWRE - Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (24 - 25 July) to our Exhibition Halls 1 - 2 over two electrifying days, where attendees embarked on a journey through the world of resource recovery. Plastic Free July is a time to focus on reducing the amount of single use plastics that end up in landfill and ultimately polluting our environment. Taking the initiative to start making simple changes in our lives can grow into long term sustainable habits, creating real positive impact on the world around us. Among event organisers based in the United Kingdom and Europe who book venues internationally, 86% now view sustainability as essential to running events. This morning marked the beginning of Answers for Associations' Association Leaders eXchange at International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), a dynamic one-day event focused on sparking innovation, collaboration, and growth.   After some networking, the day started with an insightful address from our CSR Manager, Jessica Zickar, who presented the findings of International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney)'s 2024 McCrindle RESPECT: Shaping Events for Success report.
