Across Australia, Glencore operations in QLD, NSW, WA and NT celebrated history and culture as we joined as one for NAIDOC Week. Onsite activities included basket weaving, spear making, traditional foods, pop-up art galleries, Cultural awareness workshops, basketball competition and camp-outs. From Mount Isa, to Murrin Murrin and McArthur River Mine, we hosted family fun days, traditional dancers, musical performances, a flag raising ceremony, morning teas, BBQs, and smoking ceremonies. NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate the history, identity, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We are proud to take part in celebrating one of the oldest living cultures in the world. In celebration of NAIDOC Week, we acknowledge the incredible contributions of our First Nations employees, suppliers and community members.

🏆 Congratulations to the award-winning Mines Rescue teams across our coal business. Oaky Creek North team won in the overall competition, and the Excellence in First Aid category at the 19th Queensland Mines Rescue Service Memorial Cup earlier in the year. More recently, Integra Mines Rescue team finished on top at the Hunter Valley Mines Rescue competition. In addition to the team taking out the top spot, Integra team captain, Kurt, took home the coveted Wayne Wallace shield for Best Captain. These events bring together the best in mine safety and rescue operations, highlighting their expertise through rigorous simulated exercises ranging from firefighting to emergency medical response. Well done to everyone involved.

The role mining plays in our everyday lives isn’t always obvious. That’s why we’ve launched a new advertising campaign to tell people how commodities, like those mined at Glencore can help make products of the future possible. Like nickel and cobalt in delivery drones, zinc in smart homes, coal in construction steel and copper and nickel in electric cars. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/geKxYqeB
