🎺 We are happy to announce our final speaker joining us TODAY for our ‘Unlocking Investment Opportunities in Accounting Tech’ webinar: Jason Robinson - Investor and Director of the award winning Future Advisory 🎺 Jason shared his insights on the critical success factors for the next wave of AI innovation in accounting technology. He emphasised: "Make or break in AI will be intuitive user experience and ease of adoption - that is the key. The winners will be those AI technologies that offer intuitive interfaces, require minimal training, and provide tangible value from the get-go, enabling smooth implementation and user acceptance. I'm big on the human upgrade we get by allowing AI to do its magic. Seamlessly integrating AI technology into existing accounting workflows will be a 'make or break' factor. Solutions that can effortlessly complement and enhance human capabilities, rather than disrupt them, will lead the next wave of innovation." 🎺 Meet Alastair Barlow FCCA, founder and CEO of the award-winning accountancy firm flinder, and our next speaker for the "Unlocking Investment Opportunities in Accounting Tech" webinar. In advance of the webinar, we asked Alastair to address a pivotal question: "What are the 'make or break' factors that will determine the winners of the next wave of AI innovation in accounting technology?". Here’s what he said: “There’s a plethora of accounting-tech but accountants are still working longer than ever. I see first-hand there’s still so many broken processes where accountants have to get involved in the mundane rather than get involved in what their actually trained for - the more insightful, strategic support. The industry is certainly changing: increasing client demands, shortage of talent, and a shift to insight-focused services, accounting firms are looking for more and better technology to help them solve these challenges. There will be some game-changers coming!” To hear more from Alastair and the other speakers, and to have your own questions answered, join us our webinar here: https://lnkd.in/gdGTzsHb 📅 If you can't join us live, simply register, and we'll ensure you receive the recording via email 📩 Secure your spot now to explore the future of accounting technology!

🎙 PODCAST EP: Why Startups Fail 💥 As the year comes to a close, the season ends and with Jack moving on from Early Adopters Hub in 2024, we felt now was the perfect time to bring you a very special episode... one that has been in the works and on our minds for months.   Together we look to answer the million-dollar question, 'Why do startups fail?'   Over the past 3.5 years running Early Adopters Hub, we have worked with more than 35+ startups, and evaluated over 200 founders... And during this time the key reasons, beliefs, and strategies that lead founders into failure have come to the fore.    Prepare to have many of your startup beliefs challenged, as we (Yohan in particular) shed light on the reality of startup life, the complexity involved, and how most founders underestimate the challenge ahead!   This episode is all about 'Why Startups Fail', but we made it because we want to see more startups to go in eyes-wide open, and hopefully, succeed! 🔊 “(As you become more experienced in the startup space) you start to develop this cognitive dissonance - that what you're being fed all the time, as far as the image, the rulebook, the playbook of what you should do to succeed as a startup founder, doesn't match the reality. Its easy to live off all that inspiring fluff, but when you're down in the trenches, and you see the reality up close, its a lot uglier..." 🔼 Don't forget to subscribe and follow 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝘁 - The first and only podcast for #accounting #tech #founders Listen now on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gx__UqHe Listen now on Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/gQyPN38C Available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts #startup #podcast #accounting #tech

🎙 PODCAST EP: Unpacking a Startup "Failure" 💥 For this special extended episode of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝘁, we were joined by Jon Jenkins, Founder of Hindsight. This was a deep, brutally honest and very raw conversation that not many founders would be willing to have. Jon shared every intimate detail of his journey, from inception to the ultimate decision to shut the business down. This story is an important one for any future or early stage founder to hear. The startup journey isn't always glamorous and this conversation reveals many of the struggles and challenges most founders aren't brave enough to share. We want to thank Jon for letting us open a few wounds, many of which were still fresh. This is never easy for a founder, but we all hope that this helps other founders avoid the same end result. 🔊 “If I'm being honest, the turning point for me that made me realise that I needed to stop doing this, was when we asked the kids what they wanted for Christmas and they said a hot shower... we did not have a hot working shower in my house for two years, because I couldn't afford a luxury of fixing the shower... at that point you know you need to call it a day." 🎥 There was a tonne of insight in this episode so it wasn't hard to find a teaser worth sharing - take a look! 🔼 Don't forget to subscribe and follow 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝘁 - The first and only podcast for #accounting #tech #founders Listen now on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gx__UqHe Listen now on Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/gQyPN38C Available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts #startup #podcast #accounting #tech

🎙 PODCAST EP: Navigating Technical Challenges as a Non-Technical Founder 🚀 For this episode of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝘁, we were joined by a long-time Early Adopters Hub member Alastair Barlow FCCA, Co-Founder of flinder, to discuss his tech startup experience. As a non-technical founder, Alastair opened up on the challenges and mistakes he made building his first tech product; overestimating the speed at which things can be done, and underestimating the help he would need. He also provided his unique perspective on what makes and breaks great accounting tech tools, and what new early-stage founders need to be aware to avoid ending up among the many lost to the tar pit... 🔊 “My concern and frustration when I see technology, not always but predominantly, is when a founder doesn't really understand the market of accounting and what accountants need, and do, and the huge diversity in accounting firms. Just assuming all accountants are equal and are the same. That's one of the biggest frustrations I have and see... My recommendation to anyone starting up a product - really understand your key persona, "an accountant" is not your key persona!" 🎥 And as always, after the podcast mics stopped recording, we kept the cameras rolling - so enjoy this little bit of bonus footage! 🔼 Don't forget to subscribe and follow 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝘁 - The first and only podcast for #accounting #tech #founders Listen now on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gx__UqHe Listen now on Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/gQyPN38C Available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts
