Today, the Australian Energy Council co-signed a statement on the need for climate and energy policy certainty. Along with business, industry, investors, consumer and environmental advocates, farmers, developers, workers, and the community sector, the AEC joins in calling for a certain, credible, and consistent policy framework. Australia’s national emissions and energy targets are ambitious, but necessary, and will only be achieved through a sustained whole of economy approach. Significant investment is needed from and across all sectors, which is why it is crucial for policy to provide certainty to the sector so it can put Australia on the right path towards meeting the needs of the transition. The statement was released ahead of Friday’s Energy and Climate Change Ministerial Council meeting. The full statement is available via this link: https://lnkd.in/gWaYVuqh
