Growing regional Australia by delivering bulk commodities to the world.
About us
Aurizon is Australia’s largest rail-based freight operator and a top 50 ASX-listed company. Each year, we transport more than 250 million tonnes of Australian commodities, connecting miners, primary producers, and industry with international and domestic markets. We provide customers with integrated freight and logistics solutions across an extensive national rail and road network, traversing Australia. So no matter whether it’s turning on a light bulb or bringing home the groceries, the chances are we have played a part in delivering your everyday life. In addition to transportation, we own and operate one of the world’s largest coal rail networks with 2,700 kilometres of heavy haul rail infrastructure connecting mining customers in the Queensland coalfields with key ports. Our Operations business provides a range of specialist services to service the industry including rail design engineering, construction, management and maintenance and we offer large scale supply chain solutions to a diverse range of customers Australia-wide. While we’re incredibly proud of the work we do every day, we believe that our job isn’t just about transporting freight, it’s also about providing for our employees and transforming the communities where we live and work. That’s why we constantly strive to deliver a dynamic environment for our people and actively encourage equal opportunity employment in all areas of our business. It’s also why we support local charities and community groups at every level. Because we don’t just deliver freight, we deliver opportunity and value sustainability. Aurizon is a major contributor in the Australian economy, and we are well-placed to benefit from the continued long-term international demand for resources. As such we look forward to sharing our continued growth with our customers, employees, shareholders, our communities and the nation as a whole. For more information visit www.aurizon.com.au.

Yesterday team members from our Narngulu depot supported celebrations for NAIDOC week on Yamatji country in Geraldton. The Aurizon team was there to assist the organisers to get people into the spirit of the event which was an opportunity for teams of 5 to take part in a race around Geraldton to win challenges. Thank you to GRAMS - Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service for organising such a wonderful community event to celebrate NAIDOC Week. #aurizon #community #NAIDOC2024

Aurizon’s innovative Battery-Electric Locomotive (BEL) project has won national recognition in The Australian Financial Review Sustainability Leaders for 2024, being named as Winner of Logistics and Transport. The BEL project commenced in mid-2023 and is part of Aurizon’s $50 million future Fleet Fund. It is a cornerstone project in our efforts to decarbonise our 600-strong locomotive fleet. Our locos generate more than 90% of our Scope 1 & 2 emissions initiatives, and therefore this work is critical as we work towards net-zero operational emissions by 2050. The AFR award is due recognition for the various projects that are being progressed by Aurizon’s Fleet Decarbonisation Team, acknowledging the significant technical challenges of creating low-emissions rollingstock for Australia’s heavy-haul rail freight requirements. Solving this challenge will be a big positive for the nation’s supply chains. You can learn more about our BEL project here - https://lnkd.in/gYYytzj3 #aurizon #sustainability #decarbonisation
