A study by WTW found that workers in India saw an average 10% increase in overall salaries in 2023 with surveyed business leaders expecting a similar increase in 2024. Technology firms were among the most impacted by these wage hikes as the sector contended with an industrywide talent shortage this year. In the first issue of our 2024 Workforce Trends Report, we analysed skills and wage trends in India. We examined the roles that endured the largest wage increases across our customers' major verticals: engineering, IT, light industrial, professional and scientific. Then, we looked at the fastest-growing skills among people with that job title as well as the top sourcing locations for finding available talent within that skill set.
