Throw Back Thursday | April 2010 ACCIONA’s Geotech team, pictured here with ACCIONA Chief Operating Officer, Andre Noonan alongside Dennis White and Corey Spokes (both still working with ACCIONA) - they are building the early stages of the Victorian Desalination plant in Wonthaggi - about 2 hours’ drive south-east of Melbourne. “This was a great job - we were one of the first contractors on site to prepare the tunnelling area for the inlet and outlet to sea,” Andre said. ACCIONA has global expertise delivering desalination plants around the world and Australia - like the Adelaide Desalination Plant (which we currently operate) and the upcoming Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant in Perth. #ThrowBackThursday #SustainableInfrastructure #InvestInThePlanet #ACCIONAteam

Construction Starts on massive Desalination Plant! The #ACCIONAteam is excited to commence construction on Africa’s largest Desalination Plant, in Casablanca, Morocco. Key features of the Casablanca project: - Initial capacity of 559,000 m³ per day, expanding to 838,000 m³ - 100% powered by renewable wind energy - Contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation As Australia faces our own water challenges, ACCIONA's global water treatment experience positions us as a valuable partner for sustainable water solutions in Australia. With projects like the Alkimos Desalination Plant near Perth, the Adelaide Desalination Plant and the Coombabah Sewage Treatment Plant in Queensland, our team is already behind crucial water infrastructure, and we're committed to applying our worldwide innovations and experience to benefit more Australian communities. Our approach combines cutting-edge technology with a deep commitment to sustainability, ensuring we meet water needs while minimising environmental impact. #SustainableWater #GlobalExpertise #Desalination #ACCIONAinAustralia #WaterSecurity

A new type of child care is being trialled by ACCIONA in Sydney - Back-Up Care, in partnership with Bright Horizons Australia. Back-Up Care offers reliable support when normal care arrangements break down or change unexpectedly - it's an innovative solution to support our workforce on the Western Harbour Tunnel - and provides a fallback option to help our team navigate family and work responsibilities when needed. Ultimately, this program will help to retain those with child-care responsibilities in our industry. #SustainableInfrastructure #InvestInThePlanet
Yesterday was a very special day for ACCIONA AU & NZ caregivers on the Western Harbour Tunnel project, as we launched our Back Up Care program in partnership with Bright Horizons Australia. This program has been a true labour of love, kind of like being a parent! It’s been a particular privilege working with great women like Nikki Suey, Candice Spiroski, Fiona Hitchiner and Angela Stalker to make this first of its kind offering in Australia come to life. Our hope is that the support provided by Back Up Care will not only make lives easier in the day to day, but help retain those with child caring responsibilities in the industry for the long term. Back Up Care will support both men and women on the project, as we try to dismantle the idea of a primary caregiver, because no parent is really secondary, right? On a personal level, this program will have immediate impact for my family. Living in an area with ongoing child care shortages means my son usually can’t access daycare five days a week. With the introduction of Back Up Care, next week, he will. #womeninconstruction #flexiblework Read more about the partnership and launch here: https://lnkd.in/gbEtKg4r
