Last year saw incredible growth with the addition of 11 new branches taking our total to 170+ branches across 34 countries🌏 We completed a 900 projects which translates to 975,000 hours of volunteering by over 8000+ students and also forged new partnerships to better serve our clients. Meet Chris Garner, our global CEO at 180 Degrees Consulting! Chris oversees our strategic direction and global operations, enhancing our support for charities and social enterprises. Since founding 180DC Oxford in 2018, he has boosted project completion, improved services, and expanded partnerships. Almost 9 years ago in 2015, on a bright August afternoon at the Stockholm School of Economics, I first came across 180 Degrees Consulting, a group of young students dressed in green shirts who seemed to be having a great time with each other. That initial 5-minute exchange turned into 9 years and thousands of hours invested to today as I am preparing to step down from the role as Global Chief Executive Officer and join our Board of Directors. It's hard to put into words what 180 Degrees Consulting means to me, as it has been an integral part of my life for such a long time and has shaped me to the individual I am today. But, in short I would summarise it as teaching me about love and appreciation for: - The art and importance of volunteering in showing me what's truly possible, as 180 Degrees Consulting has been ran exclusively by volunteers since our foundation in 2007, impacting millions along the journey, - The young people that have invested millions of hours of their own free time to do good by 'donating with their minds', giving me so much hope that the young generation wants to invest more of their time towards social impact, - The care, passion and commitment one puts in their work and how they choose to spend their time, from the hundreds of non-profits I have had the pleasure of working with fighting to improve their local communities, to a member of our Global Leadership Team spending 6 hours on a Sunday to refine our organisation. Thank you to all GLT members with whom I have shared the journey over the last 7 years. Thank you to all 180DC branches for your continuous commitment to upskill the next generation of social impact leaders and empower non-profits and socially conscious organisations to achieve their full potential. Thank you to all our clients who believe in our mission and are allowing our students to tackle some of their most complex challenges. Thank you to all our partners, global and local, for enabling our impact and giving us the tools, resources and time for us to succeed in our mission. As I am wrapping up my work, I couldn't be more excited for Chris Garner to step into the role as Global Chief Executive Officer and lead our organisation towards its new phase of growth and maturity. Chris Garner has been one of the most compassionate and thoughtful leaders I have had the chance to work with, and his bold vision for what's next for 180 Degrees Consulting and his commitment to our mission are inspiring!
