Lights, Camera, Sustainability! Reuse Seattle Introduces Reusable Cups at SIFF Cinemas

Exciting news for moviegoers and environmental enthusiasts alike! The City of Seattle is partnering with SIFF and r.World in a new initiative to implement reusable cups at SIFF Cinema locations. The Reuse Seattle program aims to replace single-use cups with sustainable alternatives, championing the fight against climate change.

Patrons at SIFF Cinema can now sip their favorite beverage from reusable cups, making a significant stride towards a greener future. Not only does this partnership foster a bond between the city and the arts community, but also serves as an educational platform for Seattle residents as they embark on their reuse journey at the movies.

Reuse Seattle, a city-led campaign in partnership between SPU and the Office of Economic Development, is dedicated to empowering local businesses and residents in the transition to reusables. The initiative has already prevented the use of over 1 million single-use cups, bowls, and plates across the city!

Up next, Reuse Seattle is collaborating with more local events, including the Columbia City Night Market hosted by Peace Peloton. The Columbia City Night Market, which takes place on the third Saturday of every month, includes a bustling beer garden. When you order your adult beverage, you will be served in a reusable cup that will be washed, sanitized, and used again at a future event.

The partnership between the city and local venues shows how we can all join forces to prevent waste. Together, we’re not just enjoying our favorite pastimes, we’re sharing a more eco-conscious future, one reusable cup at a time.
