With diversity comes incredible opportunity!
Karin Haselböck is part of the leadership team of Ashoka in Europ as head of strategic planning.
Ashoka is a living encyclopedia of social innovation across the globe. The organization pioneered the field of social entrepreneurship with a network of 4000+ Ashoka Fellows in 95 countries worldwide. Today’s vision is to build an “everyone a changemaker world” where all people have the confidence and support to solve problems and contribute to the common good.
Karin is leading strategic change processes in Ashoka Europe with its community of 500+ Ashoka Fellows, 100 FTEs staff as well as partners and collaborators.
Karin has held positions in most sectors, working in different countries in Europe, studying in Austria, USA and England. She is passionate about working across disciplines and borders, empowering people to create systemic change and social innovation.
Karin was working as a Marketing Director for the Austrian tourism industry (creating social change in the field of safety on the slopes), as a journalist and did research on sustainability topics for the Ministry of Environment in Austria. She was leading the program TRIGOS, a renowned sustainability award for Austrian businesses and was certified as CSR manager. Karin initiated a Leadership Program for women working for the Chamber of Commerce in Austria. She works as a systemic coach and has years of experience of being a facilitator for workshops and events as well as a trainer in the field of communication and team-building. She studied for an MBA with a focus on sustainability at the University of Economics and Management in Vienna, Austria, the University of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA as well as the de Havilland College in Borehamwood, England.
Karin loves mentoring kids in the forests around Vienna, being a Vision fast guide for the School of lost Borders in the USA and going skiing with her teenage sons and husband in the Austrian alps.
