The Moon Village Association is a non-governmental organization, founded in 2017 in Vienna, that aims to promote international collaboration in the exploration and settlement of the Moon. The MVA fosters cooperation between government space agencies, commercial space entities, and academia to advance humanity’s presence on the Moon. Its goal is the creation of a global forum for stakeholders interested in the development of the Moon Village, and is creating international, national and regional networks to engage civil society around the world. MVA is proud to involve Individual and Institutional Members from more than 60 countries in its activities. MVA is a Permanent Observer of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), and a member of International Astronautical Federation (IAF). MVA has been Instrumental in getting approved by the United Nations the declaration International Moon Day, to be celebrated annually on July 20.
