🌍We are supporting La Réunion's goal to eliminate landfilling and boost energy autonomy! French energy company Albioma has selected us to supply a waste-to-energy line for the Bois-Rouge power plant on the island. 👉 The new boiler will treat 70,000 tons of high calorific waste annually, converting household waste into energy. ♻️ This project, set to be operational by the end of 2026, will help divert waste from landfills, conserve fossil fuels, and contribute to a more circular economy. ♻️ Read more: https://lnkd.in/d7TXd4y5

🎉 We are happy to announce that Xin Wang will join ANDRITZ as Head of the Battery division in the Metals Forming business area (Schuler). He has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive and lithium-ion battery industries. Xin joins us from SVOLT Energy Technology, a Chinese manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems, where he was Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, he held management positions at the Sunwoda Power Battery Group and Shanshan Holding Group. He also worked in the area of e-mobility at Groupe PSA, which included the Citroën, Peugeot and Opel brands. Please welcome Xin to ANDRITZ and give him your full support.

Kumaran, at our ANDRITZ headquarters in Graz 🇮🇳🤝🇦🇹 ANDRITZ shares a long and historic relationship with India, dating back to 1902 when we established the first large-scale hydropower plant in Shivasamudram, which is still in operation today! In 1995 and 1996, we set up our turbine and generator manufacturing facilities in India. We are now proud to employ over 2,600 people in the country. All our four business areas – Hydropower, Pulp & Paper, Environment & Energy, and Metals – are thriving in India. 🌟 We continue to foster strong partnerships and contribute to the country's industrial growth and sustainability. 🎉 International technology group ANDRITZ has been chosen to renew the flue gas cleaning system at the Hamm waste incineration plant in Germany. This modernization will ensure reduced emissions, meeting new legal requirements and securing the plant's future. The project, set to begin in late 2024 and complete by 2028, includes the installation of four state-of-the-art flue gas cleaning lines using the TurboSorp process. 🌍 Renewing renewables: Hydropower, a cornerstone of renewable energy, is a central part of our mission to enable the green transition. Modernizing existing hydropower facilities plays a key role in advancing on this journey. 🎉 That is why we are proud that AET awarded us with the contract for the rehabilitation of the Piottino hydropower plant in Ticino, Switzerland. 👉 Originally built between 1928 and 1932, this plant generates 310 GWh annually, serving 77,500 households. The ANDRITZ/INGETEAM consortium will supply electromechanical equipment for rehabilitating of 3 Francis groups, including new turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems. 🌲A big step towards more circularity in the forest industry: We are thrilled to announce that we are partnering with Swedish forest industry group Södra to launch the world’s largest commercial kraft lignin plant in Sweden! 👉 Lignin is a by-product of pulp production, which is typically used for energy generation. However, it can also replace fossil-based materials in the chemical industry and serve as a foundation for new biofuels. 🚀 Innovative Technology: ANDRITZ will implement the LignaRec™ lignin recovery process and the SulfoLoop™ sulfuric acid plant to integrate lignin recovery into the mill operations seamlessly. 🌍 Environmental and economic Impact: The solution will not only enhance the mill’s environmental performance and support Södra’s sustainability goals but enable Södra to enhance profitability by turning lignin into a valuable resource. Karin Dernegård, Mill Manager at Södra Cell Mönsterås: “This investment means a lot for Södra and for our kraft pulp mill in Mönsterås. We will make more out of every tree and strengthen our profitability. This is a big investment for Södra and the green transition."
