Stable dark matter from Pauli blocking in the degenerate fermion background with Quantum Field Theory
Abstract: We study a mechanism to make dark matter stable based on the Pauli blocking in the fermion background. In the background where fermions occupy the states, the decay of dark matter to those final states is not allowed, as a result, DM becomes stable. We derive the evolution equations of the distribution function in the quantum field theory and compare it with the Boltzmann equation. We apply this m… ▽ More

DESI constraints on varying electron mass model and axion-like early dark energy
Abstract: Baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) is one of the important standard ruler in cosmology. The results of the latest BAO measurements by Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) survey has been reported. Cosmology with the varying electron mass model and the early dark energy (EDE) models are regraded as interesting models to resolve the Hubble tension. Freeze-in sterile neutrino dark matter in feeble gauged $B-L$ model
Abstract: We consider the gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ model and examine the situation where the sterile neutrino is a dark matter candidate produced by the freeze-in mechanism. In our model, the dark matter $N$ is mainly produced by the decay of a $U(1)_{B-L}$ breaking scalar field $φ$. We point out that the on-shell production of $φ$ through annihilation of the $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge field $Z'$ plays an important role… ▽ More

Constraints on sterile neutrinos and the cosmological tensions
Abstract: We investigate cosmological bounds on sterile neutrino masses in the light of the Hubble and $S_8$ tensions. We argue that non-zero masses for sterile neutrinos are inferred at 2$σ$ level in some extended models such as varying dark energy equation of state, when a direct measurement of the Hubble constant $H_0$ and weak lensing measurement of dark energy survey (DES) are taken into account. Intergenerational gauged $B-L$ model and its implication to muon $g-2$ anomaly and thermal dark matter
Abstract: We study the flavor dependent $U(1)_{B_i-L_j}$ models, where an $i$th generation of quarks and $j(\neq i)$th generation of leptons are charged. By solving the anomaly free condition for the matter sector of the SM fermions and three generations of right-handed (RH) neutrinos, we find that the $j$th generation of RH neutrino is not necessarily charged under the $U(1)_{B_i-L_j}$ gauge symmetry with… ▽ More

Entropy production by domain wall decay in the NMSSM
Abstract: We consider domain walls in the $Z_3$ symmetric NMSSM. The spontaneous $Z_3$ discrete symmetry breaking produces domain walls, and the stable domain walls are problematic. Thus, we assume the $Z_3$ symmetry is slightly but explicitly broken and the domain walls decay. Such a decay causes a large late-time entropy production. We study its cosmological implications on unwanted relics such as moduli,… ▽ More

Large invisible decay of a Higgs boson to neutrinos
Abstract: We show that the standard model (SM)-like Higgs boson may decay into neutrinos with a sizable decay branching ratio in one well-known two Higgs doublet model, so-called neutrinophilic Higgs model. This could happen if the mass of the lighter extra neutral Higgs boson is smaller than one half of the SM-like Higgs boson mass. The definite prediction of this scenario is that the rate of the SM-like H… ▽ More

Dilution of axion dark radiation by thermal inflation
Abstract: Axions in the Peccei-Quinn (PQ) mechanism provide a promising solution to the strong CP problem in the standard model of particle physics. Coherently generated PQ scalar fields could dominate the energy density in the early Universe and decay into relativistic axions, which would conflict with the current dark radiation constraints. We study the possibility that a thermal inflation driven by a… ▽ More

A facility to Search for Hidden Particles at the CERN SPS: the SHiP physics case
Abstract: This paper describes the physics case for a new fixed target facility at CERN SPS. The SHiP (Search for Hidden Particles) experiment is intended to hunt for new physics in the largely unexplored domain of very weakly interacting particles with masses below the Fermi scale, inaccessible to the LHC experiments, and to study tau neutrino physics. The same proton beam setup can be used later to look f… ▽ More

Galactic Center gamma-ray excess from two-Higgs-doublet-portal dark matter
Abstract: We consider a simple extension of the type-II two-Higgs-doublet model by introducing a real scalar as a candidate for dark matter in the present Universe. The main annihilation mode of the dark matter particle with a mass of around $31-40$ GeV is into a $b\bar{b}$ pair, and this annihilation mode suitably explains the observed excess of the gamma-ray flux from the Galactic Center. We identify the… ▽ More

Phenomenology in supersymmetric neutrinophilic Higgs model with sneutrino dark matter
Abstract: We study a supersymmetric neutrinophilic Higgs model with large neutrino Yukawa couplings where neutrinos are Dirac particles and the lightest right-handed (RH) sneutrino is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) as a dark matter candidate. Neutrinophilic Higgs bosons need to be rather heavy by the precise determination of the muon decay width and dark radiation constraints for large Yukawa co… ▽ More

Axion monodromy inflation with multi-natural modulations
Abstract: We study parameter space in the axion monodromy inflation corrected by dynamically generated terms involving with the axion. The potential has the linear potential with multiple sinusoidal functions, which play a role in generating modulations. We show that this potential leads both to a large tensor-to-scalar ratio $r_T \sim 0.16$ and to a large negative running of spectral index… ▽ More

Axion monodromy inflation with sinusoidal corrections
Abstract: We study the axion monodromy inflation with a non-perturbatively generated sinusoidal term. The potential form is a mixture between the natural inflation and the axion monodromy inflation potentials. The sinusoidal term is subdominant in the potential, but leaves significant effects on the resultant fluctuation generated during inflation. A larger tensor-to-scalar ratio can be obtained in our mode… ▽ More

Beginning of Universe through large field hybrid inflation
Abstract: Recent detection of $B$-mode polarization induced from tensor perturbations by the BICEP2 experiment implies so-called large field inflation, where an inflaton field takes super-Planckian expectation value during inflation, at a high energy scale. We show however, if another inflation follows hybrid inflation, the hybrid inflation can generate a large tensor perturbation with not super-Plankian bu… ▽ More

Polynomial inflation models after BICEP2
Abstract: Large field inflation models are favored by the recent BICEP2 that has detected gravitational wave modes generated during inflation. We study general large field inflation models for which the potential contains (constant) quadratic and quartic terms of inflaton field. We show, in this framework, those inflation models can generate the fluctuation with the tensor-to-scalar ratio of $0.2$ as well a… ▽ More

X-ray line signal from decaying axino warm dark matter
Abstract: We consider axino warm dark matter in a supersymmetric axion model with R-parity violation. In this scenario, axino with the mass $m_\axino\simeq 7$ keV can decay into photon and neutrino resulting in the X-ray line signal at $3.5$ keV, which might be the origin of unidentified X-ray emissions from galaxy clusters and Andromeda galaxy detected by the XMM-Newton X-ray observatory.

Neutrino mass from neutrinophilic Higgs and leptogenesis
Abstract: In a class of two Higgs doublet model, where one Higgs doublet generates masses of quarks and charged leptons whereas the other Higgs doublet with a tiny vacuum expectation value (VEV) generates neutrino Dirac masses, smallness of neutrino masses might be understand as the consequence of the small second Higgs VEV. In this framework, thermal leptogenesis scenarios work well at low energy scale and… ▽ More
