The anisotropy is found to be of the order $10^{-13}$, which interplay with spatial curvature to reduce $H_0$ tension by $\sim 1σ$ as found in the analyses with BAO+CC+BBN+PP combination of data, while no significant effect of anisotropy is observed with BAO+CC+BBN+PPSH0ES combination of data. A closed Universe is favored by $w$CDM as well as anisotropic $w$CDM models with spatial curvature in analyses with BAO+CC+BBN+PP combination of data. An observation of an open Universe from $w$CDM model with spatial curvature in analyses with BAO+CC+BBN+PPSH0ES combination of data and a closed Universe from anisotropic $w$CDM model with curvature in analyses with same combination of data is made. The quintessence form of dark energy is favored at 95\% CL in both analyses.

We also consider the properties of neutrinos, such as the effective neutrino mass and the effective number of neutrino species as free parameters. We derive the constraints on this scenario by using the data from the Planck-2018 cosmic microwave background (CMB), baryonic acoustic oscillation (BAO) measurements, Pantheon+ compilation of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), and some large scale structure (LSS) information from the cosmic shear surveys: Kilo Degree Survey (KiDS)-1000 and Dark Energy Survey (DES). We find constraints on the EoS and sound speed of DM very close to the null value in all the analyses, and thus no significant evidence is found beyond the standard CDM paradigm. In all the analyses, we find the significantly tight upper bounds on the sum of neutrino masses, and significantly lower mean values of $S_8$, which are in agreement with the LSS measurements. Thus, the well-known $S_8$ tension is reconciled in the considered model.

The Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) radiation B mode polarization signal contains the unique signature of primordial metric perturbations produced during the inflation. The separation of the weak CMB B-mode signal from strong foreground contamination in observed maps is a complex task, and proposed new generation low noise satellite missions compete with the weak signal level of this gravitational background. In this article, for the first time, we employ a foreground model-independent internal linear combination (ILC) method to reconstruct the CMB B mode signal using simulated observations over large angular scales of the sky of 6 frequency bands of future generation CMB mission Probe of Inflation and Cosmic Origins (PICO). We estimate the joint CMB B mode posterior density following the interleaving Gibbs steps of B mode angular power spectrum and cleaned map samples using the ILC method. We extend and improve the earlier reported Bayesian ILC method to analyze weak CMB B mode reconstruction by introducing noise bias corrections at two stages during the ILC weight estimation. By performing $200$ Monte Carlo simulations of the Bayesian ILC method, we find that our method can reconstruct the CMB signals and the joint posterior density accurately over large angular scales of the sky. We estimate Blackwell-Rao statistics of the marginal density of CMB B mode angular power spectrum and use them to estimate the joint density of scalar to tensor ratio $r$ and a lensing power spectrum amplitude $A^{\textrm{lens}}$. Using $200$ Monte Carlo simulations of the delensing approach, we find that our method can achieve an unbiased detection of the primordial gravitational wave signal $r$ with more than 8$σ$ significance for levels of $r \geqslant 0.01$.

We investigate observational constraints on cosmological parameters combining 15 measurements of the transversal BAO scale (obtained free of any fiducial cosmology) with Planck-CMB data to explore the parametric space of some cosmological models. We investigate how much Planck + transversal BAO data can constraint the minimum $Λ$CDM model, and extensions, including neutrinos mass scale $M_ν$, and the possibility for a dynamical dark energy (DE) scenario. Assuming the $Λ$CDM cosmology, we find $H_0 = 69.23 \pm 0.50$ km s${}^{-1}$ Mpc${}^{-1}$, $M_ν < 0.11$ eV and $r_{\rm drag} = 147.59 \pm 0.26$ Mpc (the sound horizon at drag epoch) from Planck + transversal BAO data. When assuming a dynamical DE cosmology, we find that the inclusion of the BAO data can indeed break the degeneracy of the DE free parameters, improving the constraints on the full parameter space significantly. We note that the model is compatible with local measurements of $H_0$ and there is no tension on $H_0$ estimates in this dynamical DE context. Also, we discuss constraints and consequences from a joint analysis with the local $H_0$ measurement from SH0ES. Finally, we perform a model-independent analysis for the deceleration parameter, $q(z)$, using only information from transversal BAO data.

In this article, we extend previous studies based on CMB spherical harmonic phases (SHP) to examine the validity of the hypothesis that the temperature field of the CMB is consistent with a Gaussian random field (GRF). The null hypothesis is that the corresponding CMB SHP are independent and identically distributed in terms of a uniform distribution in the interval [0, 2$π$] \citep{1986ApJ...304...15B,2013rossmanith}. We devise a new model-independent method where we use ordered and non-parametric Rao's statistic, based on sample arc-lengths to comprehensively test uniformity and independence of SHP. We performed our analysis on the scales limited by spherical harmonic modes $\le$ 128, to restrict ourselves to signal-dominated regions. To find the non-uniform or dependent sets of SHP, we calculate the statistic for the data and 10000 Monte Carlo simulated uniformly random sets of SHP and use 0.05 and 0.001 $α$ levels to distinguish between statistically significant and highly significant detections. We first establish the performance of our method using simulated Gaussian, non-Gaussian CMB temperature maps, along with observed non-Gaussian 100 and 143 GHz Planck channel maps. We find that our method performs efficiently and accurately in detecting phase correlations generated in all of the non-Gaussian simulations and observed foreground contaminated 100 and 143 GHz Planck channel temperature maps. We apply our method on the Planck satellite mission's final released CMB temperature anisotropy maps- COMMANDER, SMICA, NILC, and SEVEM along with WMAP 9 year released ILC map. We report that SHP corresponding to some of the $m$-modes is non-uniform, some of the $\ell$ mode SHP and neighboring mode pair SHP are correlated in cleaned CMB maps. The detection of non-uniformity or correlation in the SHP indicates the presence of non-Gaussian signals in the foreground minimized CMB maps.

D 98, 043521 (2018)], we have investigated a dark matter (DM)-photon coupling model in which the DM decays into photons in the presence of dark energy (DE) with the constant equation of state (EoS) parameter. Here, we study an extension of the DM-photon coupling model by considering a time-varying EoS of DE via Chevalier-Polarski-Linder (CPL) parametrization. We derive observational constraints on the model parameters by using the data from cosmic microwave background (CMB), baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAO), the local value of Hubble constant from Hubble Space Telescope (HST), and large scale structure (LSS) information from the abundance of galaxy clusters, in four different combinations. We find that in the present DM-photon coupling scenario the mean values of $w_{\rm de0}$ are in quintessence region ($w_{\rm de0} > -1$) whereas they were in the phantom region ($w_{\rm de0} < -1$) in our previous study with all data combinations. The constraints on the DM-photon coupling parameter do not reflect any significant deviation from the previous results. Due to the decay of DM into photons, we obtain higher values of $H_0$, consistent with the local measurements, similar to our previous study. But, the time-varying DE leads to lower values of $σ_8$ in the DM-photon coupling model with all data combinations, in comparison to the results in our previous study. Thus, allowing time-varying DE in the DM-photon coupling scenario is useful to alleviate the $H_0$ and $σ_8$ tensions.

The well-known tensions on the cosmological parameters $H_0$ and $σ_8$ within the $Λ$CDM cosmology shown by the Planck-CMB and LSS data are possibly due to the systematics in the data or our ignorance of some new physics beyond the $Λ$CDM model. In this letter, we focus on the second possibility, and investigate a minimal extension of the $Λ$CDM model by allowing a coupling between its dark sector components (dark energy and dark matter). We analyze this scenario with Planck-CMB, KiDS and HST data, and find that the $H_0$ and $σ_8$ tensions disappear at 68\% CL. In the joint analyzes with Planck, HST and KiDS data, we find non-zero coupling in the dark sector up to 99\% CL. Thus, we find a strong statistical support from the observational data for an interaction in the dark sector of the Universe while solving the $H_0$ and $σ_8$ tensions simultaneously.

Dark matter (DM) as a pressureless perfect fluid provides a good fit of the standard $Λ$CDM model to the astrophysical and cosmological data. In this paper, we investigate two extended properties of DM: a possible time dependence of the equation of state of DM via Chevallier-Polarski-Linder parametrization, $w_{\rm dm} = w_{\rm dm 0} + w_{\rm dm 1}(1-a)$, and the constant non-null sound speed $\hat{c}^2_{\rm s,dm}$. We analyze these DM properties on top of the base $Λ$CDM model by using the data from Planck cosmic microwave background (CMB) temperature and polarization anisotropy, baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAO) and the local value of the Hubble constant from the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). We find new and robust constraints on the extended free parameters of DM. The most tight constraints are imposed by CMB + BAO data where the three parameters $w_{\rm dm0}$, $w_{\rm dm1}$ and $\hat{c}^2_{\rm s,dm}$ are respectively constrained to be less than $1.43\times 10^{-3}$, $1.44\times 10^{-3}$ and $1.79\times 10^{-6}$ at 95\% CL. All the extended parameters of DM show consistency with zero at 95\% CL, indicating no evidence beyond the CDM paradigm. We notice that the extended properties of DM significantly affect several parameters of the base $Λ$CDM model. In particular, in all the analyses performed here, we find significantly larger mean values of $H_0$ and lower mean values of $σ_8$ in comparison to the base $Λ$CDM model. Thus, the well-known $H_0$ and $σ_8$ tensions might be reconciled in the presence of extended DM parameters within the $Λ$CDM framework. Also, we estimate the warmness of DM particles as well as its mass scale and find a lower bound: $\sim$ 500 eV from our analyses.

We investigate an extension of the $Λ$CDM model where the dark matter (DM) is coupled to photons, inducing a nonconservation of the numbers of particles for both species, where the DM particles are allowed to dilute throughout the cosmic history with a small deviation from the standard evolution decaying into photons, while the associated scattering processes are assumed to be negligible. In addition, we consider the presence of massive neutrinos with the effective number of species $N_{\rm eff}$ as a free parameter. The effects of the DM-photon coupling on the cosmic microwave background (CMB) and matter power spectra are analyzed. We derive the observational constraints on the model parameters by using the data from CMB, baryonic acoustic oscillation (BAO) measurements, the recently measured new local value of the Hubble constant from the Hubble Space Telescope, and large scale structure (LSS) information from the abundance of galaxy clusters. The DM-photon coupling parameter $Γ_{γ}$ is constrained to $Γ_{γ} \leq 1.3 \times10^{-5}$ (at 95\% C.L.) from the joint analysis carried out by using all the mentioned data sets. The neutrino mass scale $\sum m_ν$ upper bounds at 95\% C.L. are obtained as $\sum m_ν \sim 0.9$ eV and $\sum m_ν \sim 0.4$ eV with and without the LSS data, respectively. We observe that the DM-photon coupling cause significant changes in the best fit value of $N_{\rm eff}$ but yields statistical ranges of $N_{\rm eff}$ compatible with the standard predictions, and we do not find any evidence of dark radiation. Due to nonconservation of photons in our model, we also evaluate and analyze the effects on the BAO acoustic scale at the drag epoch. The DM-photon coupling model yields high values of Hubble constant consistent with the local measurement, and thus alleviates the tension on this parameter.

We report an improved technique for diffuse foreground minimization from Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) maps using a new multi-phase iterative internal-linear-combination (ILC) approach in harmonic space. The new procedure consists of two phases. In phase 1, a diffuse foreground cleaned map is obtained by performing a usual ILC operation in the harmonic space in a single iteration over the desired portion of the sky. In phase 2, we obtain the final foreground cleaned map using an iterative ILC approach also in the harmonic space, however, now, during each iteration of foreground minimization, some of the regions of the sky that are not being cleaned in the current iteration, are replaced by the corresponding cleaned portions of the phase 1 cleaned map. The new ILC method nullifies a foreground leakage signal that is otherwise inevitably present in the old and usual harmonic space iterative ILC method. The new method is flexible to handle input frequency maps, irrespective of whether or not they initially have the same instrumental and pixel resolution, by bringing them to a common and maximum possible beam and pixel resolution at the beginning of the analysis. This dramatically reduces data redundancy and hence memory usage and computational cost. During the ILC weight calculation it avoids any need to deconvolve partial sky spherical harmonic coefficients by the beam and pixel window functions, which in strict mathematical sense, is not well-defined for azimuthally symmetric window functions. Using WMAP 9-year and Planck-2015 published frequency maps we obtain a pair of foreground cleaned CMB maps and CMB angular power spectrum. Our power spectrum match well with Planck-2015 results, with some difference. Finally, we show that the weights for ILC foreground minimization have an intrinsic characteristic that it tends to produce a statistically isotropic CMB map as well.
