Model independent result on possible diurnal effect in DAMA/LIBRA-phase1
Abstract: The results obtained in the search for possible diurnal effect in the single-hit low energy data collected by DAMA/LIBRA-phase1 (total exposure: 1.04 ton x yr) deep underground at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS) of the I.N.F.N. are presented. At the present level of sensitivity the presence of any significant diurnal variation and of diurnal time structures in the data can be excluded fo… ▽ More

Final model independent result of DAMA/LIBRA-phase1
Abstract: The results obtained with the total exposure of 1.04 ton x yr collected by DAMA/LIBRA-phase1 deep underground at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS) of the I.N.F.N. during 7 annual cycles (i.e. adding a further 0.17 ton x yr exposure) are presented. The DAMA/LIBRA-phase1 data give evidence for the presence of Dark Matter (DM) particles in the galactic halo, on the basis of the exploited mode… ▽ More

Particle Dark Matter in DAMA/LIBRA
Abstract: The present DAMA/LIBRA experiment and the former DAMA/NaI have cumulatively released so far the results obtained with the data collected over 13 annual cycles (total exposure: 1.17 ton $\times$ yr). They give a model independent evidence of the presence of DM particles in the galactic halo on the basis of the DM annual modulation signature at 8.9 $σ$ C.L. for the cumulative exposure.

Technical aspects and dark matter searches
Abstract: A variety of detectors has been proposed for dark matter direct detection, but most of them -- by the fact -- are still at R&D stage. In many cases, it is claimed that the lack of an adequate detectors' radio-purity might be compensated through heavy uses of MonteCarlo simulations, subtractions and handlings of the measured counting rates, in order to claim higher sensitivity (just for a particu… ▽ More

Particle Dark Matter and DAMA/LIBRA
Abstract: The DAMA/LIBRA set-up (about 250 kg highly radiopure NaI(Tl) sensitive mass) is running at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory of the I.N.F.N.. The first DAMA/LIBRA results confirm the evidence for the presence of a Dark Matter particle component in the galactic halo, as pointed out by the former DAMA/NaI set-up; cumulatively the data support such evidence at 8.2 sigma C.L. and satisfy all the ma… ▽ More

Investigation on light dark matter
Abstract: Some extensions of the Standard Model provide Dark Matter candidate particles with sub-GeV mass. These Light Dark Matter particles have been considered for example in Warm Dark Matter scenarios (e.g. the keV scale sterile neutrino, axino or gravitino). Moreover MeV scale DM candidates have been proposed in supersymmetric models and as source of the 511 keV line from the Galactic center. In this… ▽ More

Abstract: Some extensions of the Standard Model provide Dark Matter candidate particles which can have a dominant coupling with the lepton sector of the ordinary matter. Possible implications of the channeling effect in NaI(Tl) crystals
Abstract: The channeling effect of low energy ions along the crystallographic axes and planes of NaI(Tl) crystals is discussed in the framework of corollary investigations on WIMP Dark Matter candidates. In fact, the modeling of this existing effect implies a more complex evaluation of the luminosity yield for low energy recoiling Na and I ions. On electromagnetic contributions in WIMP quests
Abstract: The effect pointed out by A. B. Migdal in the 40's (hereafter named Migdal effect) has so far been usually neglected in the direct searches for WIMP Dark Matter candidates. Investigating halo substructures with annual modulation signature

Extending the DAMA annual-modulation region by inclusion of the uncertainties in the astrophysical velocities
Abstract: The original annual-modulation region, singled out by the DAMA/NaI experiment for direct detection of WIMPs, is extended by taking into account the uncertainties in the galactic astrophysical velocities. Also the effect due to a possible bulk rotation for the dark matter halo is considered. We find that the range for the WIMP mass becomes 30 GeV < m_chi < 130 GeV at 1-sigma C.L. with a further e… ▽ More
