We investigate the physical properties of accretion flows around Konoplya-Zhidenko (KZ) black hole, proposed by deforming Kerr spacetime to address the inaccuracies in the observation of gravitational waves resulting from a binary black hole merger. The dynamical equations describing the general relativistic viscous accreting flow are solved self-consistently to find the transonic accretion solutions in terms of global constants, such as energy ($E$), angular momentum ($\mathcal{L}$), viscosity parameter ($α$), spin ($a_{k}$), and deformation parameter ($η_0$). We obtain five distinct types of accretion solutions (O, A, $\text{A}^{\prime}$, W, and I-types) and observe that those solutions are not unique but rather continue to exist for wide range of parameter spaces in the $\mathcal{L}-E$ plane. Furthermore, we find that the viscous accretion flows can harbor shock waves when relativistic shock conditions are satisfied. Consequently, the shock-induced global accretion solutions are obtained and the effect of $η_0$ on shock properties, such as shock radius ($r_{\rm sh}$) and change in electron temperature ($T_{\rm e}$) across the shock front are investigated. Moreover, we calculate the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of accretion flow using the relativistic thermal bremsstrahlung emission coefficient and study the modification of SEDs due to the increase of $η_0$ for both shock-induced and shock-free solutions. In addition, it has been noticed that the observable quantities, like quasi-periodic oscillation frequency ($ν_{\rm QPO}$) and bolometric disc luminosity ($L$), are strongly depend on $η_0$. Finally, we phenomenologically show that the KZ black hole is consistent with the observed high-frequency QPOs, commonly observed in black hole binaries and black hole candidates.

This study analyzes the disk fraction of 10 young (0.9-2.1 Myr) and low-metallicity (0.34-0.83 Z$_{\odot}$) clusters located in the outer Milky Way with Galactocentric distances between 10 and 13 kpc. Using $JHK$ data obtained from UKIDSS, the calculated disk fraction values for low-mass stars (0.2-2 M$_{\odot}$) ranged from 42% to 7%. To enhance the statistical reliability of our analysis, eight additional low-metallicity clusters are sourced from previous studies with metallicity range 0.25-0.85 Z$_{\odot}$ along with our sample, resulting in a total of 18 regions with low-metallicity. We find that low-metallicity clusters exhibit on average $2.6\pm0.2$ times lower disk fraction compared to solar-metallicity clusters in all the age bins we have. Within the age range we can probe, our study does not find evidence of faster disk decay in sub-solar metallicity regions compared to solar-metallicity regions. Furthermore, we observe a positive correlation between cluster disk fraction and metallicity for two different age groups of 0.3-1.4 and 1.4-2.5 Myr. We emphasize that both cluster age and metallicity significantly affect the fraction of stars with evidence of inner disks.

The formulation of quarkyonic matter consists of treating both quarks and nucleons as quasi-particles, where a cross-over transition occurs between the two phases. This work is based upon some of the early ideas of quark matter. It can satisfy the different observational constraints on the neutron star (NS), such as its maximum mass and the canonical radius. In addition, we put an extra component inside the NS known as Dark Matter (DM) because it is trapped due to its immense gravitational potential. In this work, we explore the impact of fermionic DM on the structure of the NS. The equation of state (EOS) is derived for the NS with the quarkyonic matter by assuming that nucleons and quarks are in equilibrium, followed by the relativistic mean-field (RMF) formalism. The recently modeled two parameterizations, such as G3 and IOPB-I, are taken to calculate the various macroscopic properties of the NS. The three unknown parameters such as the transition density ($n_t$), the QCD confinement scale ($Λ_{\rm sc}$), and the DM Fermi momentum ($k_f^{\rm DM}$) are varied to obtain the NS properties. The quarkyonic matter stiffens the EOS while DM softens it. The mutual combination provides us with good theoretical predictions for the magnitude of macroscopic properties consistent with the different observational results. Also, one can estimate the parameters of the DM admixed quarkyonic star with different statistical analyses, which can be further used to explore the other properties of the quarkyonic star.

In this paper, we study the properties of accretion flow including its spectral features in Johannsen and Psaltis (JP) non-Kerr spacetime. In doing so, we numerically solve the governing equations that describe the flow motion around the compact objects in a general relativistic framework, where spin ($a_{k}$) and deformation parameters ($\varepsilon$) demonstrate the nature of the central source, namely black hole (BH) or naked singularity (NS). With this, we obtain all possible classes of global accretion solutions ($i. e.$, O, A, W and I-type) by varying the energy ($E$) and angular momentum ($λ$) of the relativistic accretion flow, and examine the role of thermal bremsstrahlung emission in studying the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of the accretion disc. We divide the parameter space in $λ-E$ plane in terms of the different classes of accretion solutions for BH and NS models. We further calculate the disc luminosity ($L$) corresponding to these accretion solutions, and observe that I-type solutions yield higher $L$ and SEDs than the remaining types of solutions for both BH and NS models. For BH model, SEDs for W and I-type solutions differ significantly from the results for O and A-type solutions for low $E$ values. On the contrary, for NS model, SEDs for different accretion solutions are identical in the whole parameter space of $λ$ and $E$. We also examine the effect of $\varepsilon$ on the SEDs and observe that a non-Kerr BH yields higher SEDs than the usual Kerr BH. Finally, for accretion solutions of identical $E$ and $λ$, we compare the SEDs obtained from BH and NS models, and find that naked singularity objects produce more luminous power spectra than the black holes.

Over the past two decades, significant strides have been made in the study of Dark Matter (DM) admixed neutron stars and their associated properties. However, an intriguing facet regarding the effect of DM on magnetized neutron stars still remains unexplored. This study is carried out to analyze the properties of DM admixed magnetized neutron stars. The equation of state for the DM admixed neutron star is calculated using the relativistic mean-field model with the inclusion of a density-dependent magnetic field. Several macroscopic properties, such as mass, radius, particle fractions, tidal deformability, and the $f$-mode frequency, are calculated with different magnetic field strengths and DM configurations. The equation of state is softer with the presence of DM as well as for the parallel components of the magnetic field and vice-versa for the perpendicular one. Other macroscopic properties, such as mass, radius, tidal deformability, etc., are also affected by both DM and magnetic fields. The change in the magnitude of different neutron star observables is proportional to the amount of DM percentage and the strength of the magnetic field. We observe that the change is seen mainly in the core part of the star without affecting the crustal properties.

The concept of quarkyonic matter presents a promising alternative to the conventional models used to describe high-density matter and provides a more nuanced and detailed understanding of the properties of matter under extreme conditions that exist in astrophysical bodies. The aim of this study is to showcase the effectiveness of utilizing the quarkyonic model, in combination with the relativistic mean-field formalism, to parameterize the equation of state at high densities. Through this approach, we intend to investigate and gain insights into various fundamental properties of a static neutron star, such as its compositional ingredients, speed of sound, mass-radius profile, and tidal deformability. The obtained results revealed that the quarkyonic matter equation of state (EOS) is capable of producing a heavy neutron star with the mass range of $\sim$ $2.8 M_\odot$. The results of our inquiry have demonstrated that the EOS for quarkyonic matter not only yields a neutron star with a significantly high mass but also showcases a remarkable degree of coherence with the conformal limit of the speed of sound originating from deconfined QCD matter. Furthermore, we have observed that the tidal deformability of the neutron star, corresponding to the EOSs of quarkyonic matter, is in excellent agreement with the observational constraints derived from the GW170817 and GW190425 events. This finding implies that the quarkyonic model is capable of forecasting the behavior of neutron stars associated with binary merger systems. This aspect has been meticulously scrutinized in terms of merger time, gravitational wave signatures, and collapse times using numerical relativity simulations.

The anisotropy of pressure arises due to the various complex phenomena that happen inside the neutron star (NS). In this study, we calculate the degree of anisotropy inside the NS using the scalar pressure anisotropy model. Macroscopic properties such as mass, radius, compactness, redshift, tidal deformability, the moment of inertia, and surface curvature (SC) are computed for the anisotropic NS with the equation of states spanning from relativistic to nonrelativistic cases. The variation of SC as the functions of the above-mentioned quantities are computed by changing the degree of anisotropy. Pressure anisotropy has significant effects on the magnitude of SC. The universal relations between the canonical SC$-Λ$ and SC$-\bar{I}$ are studied. From the GW170817 tidal deformability data constraints on SC are found to be SC$_{1.4}(10^{14}) = 3.44_{-1.0}^{+0.4}, 2.85_{-1.20}^{+0.62}, \ {\rm and} \ 2.52_{-1.02}^{+0.61}$ for $λ_{\rm BL} = 0.0, 1.0$, and $2.0$ respectively.

Even though the crystallize nature of the neutron star crust plays a pivotal role in describing various fascinating astrophysical observations, its microscopic structure is not fully understood in the presence of a colossal magnetic field. In the present work, we study the crustal properties of a neutron star within an effective relativistic mean field framework in the presence of magnetic field strength $\sim 10^{17}$G. We calculate the equilibrium composition of the outer crust by minimizing the Gibbs free energy using the most recent atomic mass evaluations. The magnetic field significantly affects the equation of state (EoS) and the properties of the outer crust, such as neutron drip density, pressure, and melting temperature. For the inner crust, we use the compressible liquid drop model for the first time to study the crustal properties in a magnetic environment. The inner crust properties, such as mass and charge number distribution, isospin asymmetry, cluster density, etc., show typical quantum oscillations (De Haas-van Alphen effect) sensitive to the magnetic field's strength. The density-dependent symmetry energy influences the magnetic inner crust like the field-free case. We study the probable modifications in the pasta structures and it is observed that their mass and thickness changes by $\sim 10-15 \%$ depending upon the magnetic field strength. The fundamental torsional oscillation mode frequency is investigated for the magnetized crust in the context of quasiperiodic oscillations (QPO) in soft gamma repeaters. The magnetic field strengths considered in this work influences only the EoS of outer and shallow regions of the inner crust, which results in no significant change in global neutron star properties. However, the outer crust mass and its moment of inertia increase considerably with increase in magnetic field strength.

The effects of strong magnetic fields on the deconfinement phase transition expected to take place in the interior of massive neutron stars are studied in detail for the first time. For hadronic matter, the very general density-dependent relativistic mean-field (DD-RMF) model is employed, while the simple, but effective vector-enhanced bag model (vBag) model is used to study quark matter. Magnetic-field effects are incorporated into the matter equation of state and in the general-relativity solutions, which also satisfy Maxwell's equations. We find that for large values of magnetic dipole moment, the maximum mass, canonical mass radius, and dimensionless tidal deformability obtained for stars using spherically symmetric Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equations and axisymmetric solutions attained through the LORENE library differ considerably. The deviations depend on the stiffness of the equation of state and on the star mass being analyzed. This points to the fact that, unlike what was assumed previously in the literature, magnetic field thresholds for the approximation of isotropic stars and the acceptable use of TOV equations depend on the matter composition and interactions.

We find that the resonance condition for the complete conversion of down-quark to strange quark requires estremely large matter density ($ρ_u \simeq 10^{5}\,\mbox{fm}^{-3} $). Nonetheless the neutron stars provide a best condition for the conversion to be statistically significant which is of the same order as is expected from imposing charge neutrality condition. This has a possibility of resolving the hyperon puzzle as well as the equation of state for dense baryonic matter.

We compare these two molecular lines with other conventional tracers of dense gas, millimeter-wave continuum emission from dust and extinction thresholds ($A_{V} \geq 8$ mag), inferred from the $^{13}$CO line data. HCN and HCO$^{+}$ correlate better with the millimeter emission than with the extinction criterion. A significant amount of luminosity comes from regions below the extinction criterion and outside the millimeter clump for all the clouds. The average fraction of HCN luminosity from within the regions with $A_{V} \geq 8$ mag is $0.343\pm0.225$; for the regions of millimeter emission, it is $0.478\pm0.149$. Based on a comparison with column density maps from Herschel, HCN and HCO$^{+}$ trace dense gas in high column density regions better than does $^{13}$CO. HCO$^{+}$ is less concentrated than HCN for outer Galaxy targets, in contrast with the inner Galaxy sample, suggesting that metallicity may affect the interpretation of tracers of dense gas. The conversion factor between the dense gas mass ($M_{dense}$) and line luminosities of HCN and HCO$^{+}$, when integrated over the whole cloud, is comparable with factors used in extragalactic studies.

We study the properties of pasta structures and their influence on the neutron star observables employing the effective relativistic mean-field (E-RMF) model. The compressible liquid drop model is used to incorporate the finite size effects, considering the possibility of nonspherical structures in the inner crust. The unified equation of states are constructed for several E-RMF parameters to study various properties such as pasta mass and thickness in the neutron star's crust. The majority of the pasta properties are sensitive to the symmetry energy in the subsaturation density region. Using the results from Monte Carlo simulations, we estimate the shear modulus of the crust in the context of quasiperiodic oscillations from soft gamma-ray repeaters and calculate the frequency of fundamental torsional oscillation mode in the inner crust. Global properties of the neutron star such as mass-radius profile, the moment of inertia, crustal mass, crustal thickness, and fractional crustal moment of inertia are worked out. Motivated by the various theoretical studies regarding the efficient capturing of dark matter by neutron stars, we explore the possible indirect effects of captured dark matter on the cooling mechanism of a neutron star. The equation of states for different configurations of dark matter admixed star at finite temperature is obtained using the relativistic mean-field formalism with the IOPB-I parameter set. We show that the variation in the dark matter momentum vastly modifies the neutrino emissivity through specific neutrino generating processes of the star. The specific heat and the thermal conductivity of a dark matter admixed star have also been investigated to explore the propagation of cooling waves in the interior of the star. The dependence of theoretical surface temperature cooling curves on the equation of state and chemical composition of the stellar matter has also been discussed along with the observational data of thermal radiation from various sources. We observed that the dark matter admixed canonical stars with $k_{f}^{\rm DM} > 0.04$ comply with the fast cooling scenario. Further, the metric for internal thermal relaxation epoch has also been calculated with different dark matter momentum and we deduced that increment of dark matter segment amplify the cooling and internal relaxation rates of the star.

We study the properties of a low-angular momentum, inviscid, advective accretion flow in a deformed Kerr spacetime under the framework of general theory of relativity. We solve the governing equations that describe the flow motion in terms of input parameters, namely energy ($E$), angular momentum ($λ$), spin ($a_{\rm k}$) and deformation parameter ($\varepsilon$), respectively. We find that global transonic accretion solutions continue to exist in non-Kerr spacetime. Depending on the input parameters, accretion flow is seen to experience shock transition and we find that shocked induced accretion solutions are available for a wide range of the parameter space in $λ-E$ plane. We examine the modification of the shock parameter space with $\varepsilon$, and find that as $\varepsilon$ is increased, the effective region of the parameter space is reduced, and gradually shifted towards the higher $λ$ and lower $E$ domain. In addition, for the first time in the literature, we notice that accretion flow having zero angular momentum admits shock transition when spacetime deformation is significantly large. Interestingly, beyond a critical limit of $\varepsilon^{\rm max}$, the nature of the central object alters from black hole (BH) to naked singularity (NS) and we identify $\varepsilon^{\rm max}$ as function of $a_{\rm k}$. Further, we examine the accretion solutions and its properties around the naked singularity as well. Finally, we indicate the implications of the present formalism in the context of astrophysical applications.

The neutron star properties are generally determined by the equation of state of $β$-equilibrated dense matter. In this work, we consider the interaction of fermionic dark matter (DM) particles with the nucleons via Higgs exchange and investigate its effect on the neutron star properties with the relativistic mean-field model equation of state coupled with DM. We deduce that DM significantly affects the neutron star properties, such as considerably reduce the maximum mass of the star, which depends on the percentage of the DM considered inside the neutron star. The tidal Love numbers both for electric and magnetic cases and surficial Love numbers are also studied for DM admixed NS. It is observed that the magnitude of tidal and surficial Love numbers increase with more DM percentage. Further, we point out that post-Newtonian tidal corrections to gravitational waves decreased by increasing DM percentage. Also, the DM effect on the GW signal is significant during the late inspiral and merger stages of binary evolution for GW frequencies >500 Hz.

[Background] In our earlier work {\bf [Phys. Rev. C 104, 055804 (2021)]}, we studied the surface properties of a neutron star, assuming it as a huge finite nucleus containing protons, neutrons, electrons, and muons. For the first time, we reported these results of a neutron star for a few representative masses. In the present paper, we give a detailed study of these quantities to draw definite conclusions. [Method]To carry forward our earlier idea, the energy density functional of the momentum space of neutron star matter is converted to the coordinate space in a local density approximation. This functional is again used to derive the neutron star surface properties within the coherent density fluctuation model using the weight function obtained from the density profile of the neutron star using the recently developed G3 and widely used NL3 and IU-FSU parameter sets in the context of relativistic mean-field formalism. [Results] The systematic surface properties of the neutron star, such as incompressibility, symmetry energy, slope parameter, and curvature coefficient, is calculated. The volume and surface components of the total symmetry energy are decomposed with the help of the $κ$ factor obtained from the volume to surface ratio of the symmetry energies in the liquid drop limit of Danielewicz. The magnitude of the computed surface quantities increases with the neutron star's mass. [Conclusion] The incompressibility $K^{\rm star}$, symmetry energy $S^{\rm star}$, slope parameter $L_{\rm sym}^{\rm star}$ and curvature coefficient $K_{\rm sym}^{\rm star}$ of the neutron stars with different mass are analyzed and found to be model dependent. NL3 is the stiffest equation of state endue us with the higher magnitude of surface quantities as compared to the G3 and IU-FSU forces.

We find that IRAS 05100+3723 is a distant ($\sim$3.2 kpc), moderate mass ($\sim$500 \msun), young ($\sim$3 Myr) cluster with its most massive star being an O8.5V-type. From spectral modeling, we estimate the effective temperature and log $g$ of the star as $\sim$33,000 K and $\sim$3.8, respectively. Our radio continuum observations reveal that the star has ionized its environment forming an HII region of size $\sim$2.7 pc, temperature $\sim$5,700 K, and electron density $\sim$165 cm$^{-3}$. However, our large-scale dust maps reveal that it has heated the dust up to several parsecs ($\sim$10 pc) in the range 17$-$28 K and the morphology of warm dust emission resembles a bipolar HII region. From dust and $^{13}$CO gas analyses, we find evidences that the formation of the HII region has occurred at the very end of a long filamentary cloud around 3 Myr ago, likely due to edge collapse of the filament. We show that the HII region is currently compressing a clump of mass $\sim$2700 \msun at its western outskirts, at the junction of the HII region and filament. We observe several 70 $μ$m point sources of intermediate-mass and class 0 nature within the clump. We attribute these sources as the second generation stars of the complex. We propose that the star formation in the clump is either induced or being facilitated by the compression of the expanding HII region onto the inflowing filamentary material.

The outer crust composition is determined using the atomic mass evaluation 2020 data [Chinese Physics C {\bf 45}, 030002 (2021)] along with the available Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov mass models [Phys. Rev. C {\bf 88}, 024308 (2013)] for neutron-rich nuclei. The structure of the inner crust is estimated by performing the compressible liquid drop model calculations using the same E-RMF functional as that for the uniform nuclear matter in the liquid core. Various neutron star properties such as mass-radius ($M-R$) relation, the moment of inertia ($I$), the fractional crustal moment of inertia ($I_{crust}/I$), mass ($M_{crust})$ and thickness ($l_{crust}$) of the crust are calculated with three unified EoSs. The crustal properties are found to be sensitive to the density-dependent symmetry energy and slope parameter advocating the importance of the unified treatment of neutron star EoS. The three unified EoSs, IOPB-I-U, FSUGarnet-U, and G3-U, reproduced the observational data obtained with different pulsars, NICER, and glitch activity and are found suitable for further description of the structure of the neutron star.

The neutron star properties such as mass and radius are calculated with 50 unified equation of states. The results are consistent with recently observed pulsars and NICER data except few exceptions. From the radii constraints, we find that the new NICER data allows a narrow radius range contrary to a large range of PREX-2 and the old NICER data leaving us an inconclusive determination of the neutron star radius.

We trace a systematic and consistent method to precisely numerate the magnitude range for various structural and isospin compositional properties of the neutron star. Incompressibility, symmetry energy, slope parameter and curvature of a neutron star are investigated using the relativistic energy density functional within the framework of coherent density fluctuation model. The analytical expression for the energy density functional of the neutron star matter is motivated from the Br$\ddot{u}$ckner functional and acquired by the polynomial fitting of the saturation curves for three different relativistic mean-field parameter sets (NL3, G3 and IU-FSU). The modified functional is folded with the neutron star's density-dependent weight function to calculate the numerical values for incompressibility and symmetry energy using the coherent density fluctuation model. NL3 parameter set, being the stiffest equation of state, endue us with a higher magnitude of all the properties compared to the other two parameter sets.

We systematically study the properties of pure nucleonic and hyperonic magnetic stars using a density-dependent relativistic mean field (DD-RMF) equations of state. We explore several parameter sets and hyperon coupling schemes within the DD-RMF formalism. We focus on sets that are in better agreement with nuclear and other astrophysical data, while generating heavy neutron stars. Magnetic field effects are included in the matter equation of state and in general relativity solutions, which in addition fulfill Maxwell's equations. We find that pure nucleonic matter, even without magnetic field effects, generates neutron stars that satisfy the potential GW190814 mass constraint; however, this is not the case for hyperonic matter, which instead only satisfies the more conservative 2.1 M$_{\odot}$ constraint. In the presence of strong but still somehow realistic internal magnetic fields $\approx10^{17}$ G, the stellar charged particle population re-leptonizes and de-hyperonizes. As a consequence, magnetic fields stiffen hyperonic equations of state and generate more massive neutron stars, which can satisfy the possible GW190814 mass constraint but present a large deformation with respect to spherical symmetry.

Using the relativistic mean-field model, we calculate the properties of binary neutron star (BNS) in the in-spiral phase. Assuming the dark matter (DM) particles are accreted inside the neutron star (NS) due to its enormous gravitational field, the mass $M$, radius $R$, tidal deformability $λ$ and dimensionless tidal deformability $Λ$ are calculated at different DM fractions. The value of $M$, $R$, $λ$ and $Λ$ decreases with the increase of DM percentage inside the NS. The in-spiral phase properties of the BNS are explored within the post-Newtonian (PN) formalism, as it is suitable up to the last orbits in the in-spiral phase. We calculate the strain amplitude of the polarization waveform $h_+$ and $h_\times$, (2,2) mode waveform $h_{22}$, orbital phase $Φ$, frequency of the gravitational wave $f$ and PN parameter $x$ with DM as an extra candidate inside the NS. The magnitude of $f$, $Φ$ and $x$ are almost the same for all assumed forces; however, the in-spiral time duration in the last orbit is different. We find that the BNS with soft equation of state and a high fraction of DM sustains more time in their in-spiral phase. We suggest that one should take DM inside the NS when they modelling the in-spiral waveforms for the BNS systems.

The critical temperature for the liquid-gas phase transition in an asymmetric nuclear matter system has also been calculated and collated with the experimentally available data. We investigate the approach of the thermal index as a function of nucleon density in the wake of relativistic and non-relativistic formalism. The computation of neutrino emissivity through the direct Urca process for the supernovae remnants has also been performed, which manifests some exciting results about the thermal stabilization and evolution of the newly born proto-neutron star. The rotating neutron star properties are studied with a phase transition to quark matter. The density-dependent relativistic mean-field model (DD-RMF) is employed to study the hadron matter, while the Vector-Enhanced Bag model (vBag) model is used to study the quark matter. The star matter properties like mass, radius, the moment of inertia, rotational frequency, Kerr parameter, and other important quantities are studied to see the effect on quark matter. The maximum mass of rotating neutron star with DD-LZ1 and DD-MEX parameter sets is found to be around 3$M_{\odot}$ for pure hadronic phase and decreases to a value around 2.6$M_{\odot}$ with phase transition to quark matter, which satisfies the recent GW190814 constraints. For DDV, DDVT, and DDVTD parameter sets, the maximum mass decreases to satisfy the 2$M_{\odot}$. The moment of inertia calculated for various DD-RMF parameter sets decreases with the increasing mass satisfying constraints from various measurements. Other important quantities calculated also vary with the bag constant and hence show that the presence of quarks inside neutron stars can also allow us to constraint these quantities to determine a proper EoS. Also, the theoretical study along with the accurate measurement of uniformly rotating neutron star properties may offer some valuable information concerning the high-density part of the equation of state.

In the star formation process, the vital impact of environmental factors such as feedback from massive stars and stellar density on the form of the initial mass function (IMF) at low-mass end is yet to be understood. Hence a systematic, highly sensitive observational analysis of a sample of regions under diverse environmental conditions is essential. We analyse the IMF of eight young clusters ($<$5 Myr), namely IC1848-West, IC1848-East, NGC 1893, NGC 2244, NGC 2362, NGC 6611, Stock 8 and Cygnus OB2, which are located at the Galactocentric distance ($R_g$) range $\sim$6-12 kpc along with nearby cluster IC348 using deep near-IR photometry and Gaia DR2. These clusters are embedded in massive stellar environments of radiation strength $log(L_{FUV}/L_{\odot})$ $\sim$2.6 to 6.8, $log(L_{EUV})$ $\sim$42.2 to 50.85 photons/s, with stellar density in the range of $\sim$170 - 1220 stars/pc$^2$. After structural analysis and field decontamination we obtain an unbiased, uniformly sensitive sample of pre-main-sequence members of the clusters down to brown-dwarf regime. The lognormal fit to the IMF of nine clusters gives the mean characteristic mass ($m_c$) and $σ$ of 0.32$\pm$0.02 $M_\odot$ and 0.47$\pm$0.02, respectively. We compare the IMF with that of low- and high-mass clusters across the Milky Way. We also check for any systematic variation with respect to the radiation field strength, stellar density as well with $R_g$. We conclude that there is no strong evidence for environmental effect in the underlying form of the IMF of these clusters.

We calculate neutron star (NS) properties like mass $M$, radius $R$, compactness $C$ and surface curvature (SC) using relativistic mean-field (RMF) and Skyrme-Hartree-Fock (SHF) models. Predictive competence of the various RMF and SHF parameter sets are discussed and compared with the NICER and pulsar observational data. We try to correlate between some properties of the NS like $C$, $R$ and SC. To calculate the correlations coefficient, we employ the Pearson formula. We substantiate a correlation between the SC and $C$ for canonical NS, and it shows a strong correlation with a coefficient of 0.992. Similarly, we find another correlation between the radius and SC with a coefficient of 0.982 for the canonical star. The three-dimensional correlations are studied for the $C$, $R$ and SC with varying the masses of the NS. To visualise the correlation between these quantities as mentioned above, both for maximum and canonical mass, a $7\times7$ heat map is constructed, which gives the correlations between each pair of quantities. We find that there is a strong correlation between these pairs SC$_{1.4}$--$R_{1.4}$, SC$_{1.4}$--$C_{1.4}$. The correlations become weaker for the maximum mass NS. To find the correlation between the same quantities but for different masses of the NS, we calculated the correlations coefficients for 1.5-1.8 $M_\odot$ NS. There are also we get strong correlations between $C$, $R$ and SC.

The neutron star maximum mass and the radius are investigated within the framework of the relativistic mean-field (RMF) model. The variation in the radius at the canonical mass, $R_{1.4}$, using different inner crust equation of state (EoS) with different symmetry energy slope parameter is studied. It is found that although the NS maximum mass and the corresponding radius do not vary much with different inner crust EoSs, the radius and the tidal deformability at 1.4$M_{\odot}$ vary with the different choice of crust EoS and variation of about 1-2 km is seen in the radius at the canonical mass. For non-unified EoSs, the crust with a low symmetry energy slope parameter produces a low NS radius at the canonical mass. The properties of maximally rotating neutron stars are also studied. The variation in the radius of rotating star at the canonical mass 1.4$M_{\odot}$ is also seen with the slope parameter. Similar to the static neutron star, the radius at 1.4$M_{\odot}$ of rotating neutron star is affected by slope parameter of the inner crust. Other important quantities like moment of inertia, frequency, rotational kinetic energy to gravitational energy ratio are also calculated. The variation in these quantities with the crust slope parameter is found to be more proportional to the mass and the radius of NS.

Recently, Fattoyev et al. have obtained an energy density functional (EDF) named as BigApple, which reproduces the mass of the neutron star is 2.60 $M_\odot$ which is well consistent with GW190814 data. This study explores the properties of finite nuclei, nuclear matter, and neutron stars by using the BigApple EDF along with four well-known relativistic mean-field forces, namely NL3, G3, IOPB-I, and FSUGarnet. The finite nuclei properties like binding energy per particle, skin thickness, charge radius, single-particle energy, and two-neutron separation energy are well predicted by the BigApple for a series of nuclei. The calculated nuclear matter quantities such as incompressibility, symmetry energy, and slope parameters at saturation density are consistent with the empirical or experimental values where ever available. The predicted canonical tidal deformability by the BigApple parameter set is well-matched with the GW190814 data. Also, the dimensionless moment of inertia lies in the range given by the analysis of PSR J0737-3039A.

We study the thermal effects on the nuclear matter (NM) properties such as binding energy, incompressibility, free symmetry energy and its coefficients using NL3, G3 and IU-FSU parameter sets of relativistic mean-field models. These models being consistent with the properties of cold NM, have also been used to study the effect of temperature by incorporating the Fermi function. The critical temperature for the liquid-gas phase transition in the symmetric NM is found to be 14.60, 15.37 and 14.50 MeV for NL3, G3 and IU-FSU parameter sets respectively, which is in excellent agreement with previous theoretical and experimental studies. We inspect that the properties related to second differential coefficient of the binding energy and free symmetry energy at saturation density ( i.e. K 0 (n, T ) and Q sym,0) exhibit the contrary effects for NL3 and G3 parameters as the temperature increases. We find that the prediction of saturated curvature parameter ( K sym,0 ) for G3 equation of state at finite temperature favour the combined analysis of K sym,0 for the existence of massive pulsars, gravitational waves from GW170817 and NICER observations of PSR J0030+0451. We study the dark matter effects on the nuclear matter parameters characterising the equation of states of super dense neutron-rich nucleonic-matter. The observables of the nuclear matter, i.e. incompressibility, symmetry energy and its higher-order derivatives in the presence dark matter for symmetric and asymmetric nuclear matter are analysed with the help of an extended relativistic mean-field model. The calculations are also extended to beta-stable matter to explore the properties of the neutron star. We analyse the dark matter effects on symmetric nuclear matter, pure neutron matter and neutron star using NL3, G3 and IOPB-I forces. The binding energy per particle and pressure are calculated with and without considering the dark matter interaction with the nuclear matter systems. The influences of dark matter are also analysed on the symmetry energy and its different coefficients. The incompressibility and the skewness parameters are affected considerably due to the presence of dark matter in the nuclear matter medium. We extend the calculations to the neutron star and find its mass, radius and the moment of inertia for static and rotating neutron star with and without dark matter contribution. The mass of the rotating neutron star is considerably changing due to rapid rotation with the frequency in the mass-shedding limit. The effects of dark matter are found to be important for some of the nuclear matter parameters, which are crucial for the properties of astrophysical objects.

Constraints set on key parameters of the nuclear matter equation of state (EoS) by the values of the tidal deformability, inferred from GW170817, are examined by using a diverse set of relativistic and non-relativistic mean field models. These models are consistent with bulk properties of finite nuclei as well as with the observed lower bound on the maximum mass of neutron star $\sim 2 ~ {\rm M}_\odot$. The tidal deformability shows a strong correlation with specific linear combinations of the isoscalar and isovector nuclear matter parameters associated with the EoS. Such correlations suggest that a precise value of the tidal deformability can put tight bounds on several EoS parameters, in particular, on the slope of the incompressibility and the curvature of the symmetry energy. The tidal deformability obtained from the GW170817 and its UV/optical/infrared counterpart sets the radius of a canonical $1.4~ {\rm M}_{\odot}$ neutron star to be $11.82\leqslant R_{1.4}\leqslant13.72$ km.

We carry out the study for finite nuclei, infinite nuclear matter and neutron star properties with the newly developed relativistic force named as the Institute Of Physics Bhubaneswar-I(IOPB-I).
Using this force, we calculate the binding energies, charge radii and neutron skin thickness for some selected nuclei. From the ground state properties of superheavy element i.e. Z=120, it is noticed that considerable shell gaps appear at neutron numbers N=172, 184 and 198, showing the magicity of these numbers. The low density behavior of the equation of state for pure neutron matter is compatible with other microscopic models. Along with the nuclear symmetry energy, its slope and curvature parameters at the saturation density are consistent with those extracted from various experimental data. We calculate the neutron star properties with the equation of state composed of nucleons and leptons in $\it beta-equilibrium$ which are in good agreement with the X-ray observations by Steiner and Nättilä. We find that the maximum mass of the neutron star to be 2.15$M_{\odot}$ and stellar radius 11.936 km . Moreover, the radius and tidal deformability of a {\it canonical} neutron star mass 1.4$M_\odot$ come out to be 13.242 km and 3.910$\times$10$^{36}$ g cm$^2$ s$^2$ respectively within this parameter set.

We consider a simple extension of the minimal left-right symmetric model (LRSM) in order to explain the PeV neutrino events seen at the IceCube experiment from a heavy decaying dark matter. The dark matter sector is composed of two fermions: one at PeV scale and the other at TeV scale such that the heavier one can decay into the lighter one and two neutrinos. The gauge annihilation cross sections of PeV dark matter are not large enough to generate its relic abundance within the observed limit. We include a pair of real scalar triplets $Ω_{L,R}$ which can bring the thermally overproduced PeV dark matter abundance into the observed range through late time decay and consequent entropy release thereby providing a consistent way to obtain the correct relic abundance without violating the unitarity bound on dark matter mass. Another scalar field, a bitriplet under left-right gauge group is added to assist the heavier dark matter decay. The presence of an approximate global $U(1)_X$ symmetry can naturally explain the origin of tiny couplings required for long-lived nature of these decaying particles. We also show, how such an extended LRSM can be incorporated within a non-supersymmetric $SO(10)$ model where the gauge coupling unification at a very high scale naturally accommodate a PeV scale intermediate symmetry, required to explain the PeV events at IceCube.

This framework can also explain small neutrino masses via a radiative mechanism. One of the key predictions of this model is an enhanced rate for lepton flavor violating decay $μ\rightarrow e γ$ within the sensitivity reach of next generation experiments.

We present a minimal left-right dark matter framework that can simultaneously explain the recently observed 3.55 keV X-ray line from several galaxy clusters and gauge coupling unification at high energy scale. Adopting a minimal dark matter strategy, we consider both left and right handed triplet fermionic dark matter candidates which are stable by virtue of a remnant $\mathcal{Z}_2\simeq (-1)^{B-L}$ symmetry arising after the spontaneous symmetry breaking of left-right gauge symmetry to that of the standard model. A scalar bitriplet field is incorporated whose first role is to allow radiative decay of right handed triplet dark matter into the left handed one and a photon with energy 3.55 keV. The other role this bitriplet field at TeV scale plays is to assist in achieving gauge coupling unification at a high energy scale within a non-supersymmetric $SO(10)$ model while keeping the scale of left-right gauge symmetry around the TeV corner. Apart from solving the neutrino mass problem and giving verifiable new contributions to neutrinoless double beta decay and charged lepton flavour violation, the model with TeV scale gauge bosons can also give rise to interesting collider signatures like diboson excess, dilepton plus two jets excess reported recently in the large hadron collider data.

In this model, the decay of next-to-lightest right-handed heavy neutrino to the lightest one and a photon (N 2 -> N 1 + gamma) can explain the 3.5 keV X-ray line signal observed by XMM-Newton X-ray observatory. Beside the SM particles and heavy right-handed Majorana neutrinos, the model contains a singly charged scalar (H) and an extra Higgs doublet (Sigma). Within this minimal set of extra fields the sub-eV masses of left-handed neutrinos are also explained. Moreover, we show that the spin-independent DM-nucleon cross-section is compatible with latest LUX data.
